Wegmans Food Markets is an invaluable customer for our manufacturing and fulfillment department. Nationwide, all 114 Wegmans stores rely on the vinyl gloves packed and shipped right here at VIA.

Yesterday, our team, alongside Katie Eddy from our sister agency, Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired - CABVI, had the privilege of hosting members from Wegmans' procurement and supplier quality team for an on-site tour and collaborative meeting. While our organizations have partnered for years, this visit was a wonderful opportunity for several Wegmans team members to experience our operations firsthand.

Together, we held highly productive discussions covering:
• Our shared history and evolving business relationship
• Current market conditions and logistical landscapes
• Future product requirements to sustain their operations
• New opportunities for expanded collaboration

We extend our deepest gratitude to Wegmans for their continued business. Their commitment to purchasing gloves through VIA directly sustains and creates meaningful employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Wegmans truly models its core value to "care about the well-being and success of every person" and continually makes a profound difference in the communities they serve. We're honored beyond measure to call them a partner!

We’re so proud of the incredible visually impaired athletes who took part in Beyond Vision Dash who showed our community that low vision is not a barrier to participating in sports and achieving amazing goals.

We’re also excited that the Buffalo Marathon takes place this weekend and proudly includes a Visually Impaired Division, another great step for inclusion in sports! Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

VIA's production team packs gloves for use in many industries, including the medical field. We're proud to share that Dent Neurologic Institute is a new glove program customer this year, and VIA is fulfilling orders for nitrile exam gloves for use at DENT's offices across WNY!

When a business like DENT works with VIA, their support of the blind and visually impaired community is two-fold: business revenue supports VIA's low vision programming needs while business partnerships also provide job opportunities for the low vision community, as 75% of VIA's Manufacturing staff are blind or visually impaired.

Kudos to DENT for helping to provide meaningful employment for the low vision community and thank you for your business!

Wow—what a memorable race day! We’re still buzzing from the incredible energy, positive vibes and unforgettable moments at Beyond Vision Dash. From start to finish, the enthusiasm and support were next level.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, participated in the race, cheered loud, and made our first Beyond Vision Dash such a special experience. We're so fortunate to be surrounded by such an incredible community, and glad you had the chance to connect with VIA and our mission to support the low vision community of WNY. This race was designed to be accessible to all, regardless of vision, and your presence made it even more meaningful.

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors for making this day possible, and a special shoutout to our race partner Wolfpack Multisport—we couldn’t have done it without you! We’re also grateful to our host, Resurgence Brewing Company, for providing such a fantastic space for this event.

We're already counting down to the next one!

VIA is Seeking Your Feedback! - In February of this year, VIA announced that it has purchased a new building in Tonawanda. VIA is currently renovating this property and hopes to relocate to it at some point in 2027. Our new building offers a lot more space, and with that the ability to offer new types of programming for clients.

If you are a current or former VIA client, or a person who is blind or visually impaired that resides in Western New York, please consider taking this brief on-line survey: https://forms.office.com/r/CriDH2Van2. We’d love to get your feedback on what types of programming you might like to see in our new building, as well as how to make the best use of our new space. Responses to this survey are anonymous. If you have any additional questions or concerns you would like to share with us, please email [email protected].
