Midway Meridians members were busy yesterday at Buffalo Elementary's field day! These 4-H'ers were able to send over 100 tomato plants home with families so they can enjoy vegetables over the summer. They were also able to share a lot about the opportunities with 4-H.

We are so proud of these 4-H'ers for all their hard work. Serving the Buffalo community and Putnam County Schools - WV has given them a lot of experience with agriculture and service. How, how to all of our members and volunteers involved with this project!

Students at Buffalo Elementary School enjoyed lettuce & radishes on their salad bar today, grown in their own greenhouse!!

We are so excited that we've been able to share this with students. Special thanks to Coach Wyant for helping us out & getting kids out to water plants during the day. We couldn't have done it without you!

More lettuce will be harvested Tuesday by our members & we hope these Putnam County Schools - WV students enjoy!!

Meridians Elliott & Mason had a big work day at the greenhouse. Some bugs made their way to our veggies so we harvested radishes. We also did a preventative treatment to protect our remaining plants. We also got some flowers planted out in front of the greenhouse.

Tomorrow, club members will be at field day at Buffalo Elementary with marigolds and tomato plants available for students & families to take home.

This project has had such a big impact on our members. These kids are getting their hands dirty, learning about agriculture, & growing a giving heart.

As their work continues this spring, the club would like to thank West Virginia 4-H and the WV 4-H ALL STARS for awarding us the Hands to Larger Service Grant.

Our lettuce & radishes are POPPIN'!!!

We can't wait to get these veggies to the kitchen staff at Buffalo Elementary School for the kids to enjoy. 🫜🥬

Club President Elliott picked up tomato plants yesterday donated from Buffalo High School FFA. These plants will be distributed to the students at BES for them to continue growing & enjoy this summer.
