Amnesty International - University at Buffalo

Amnesty International - University at Buffalo As a club organization at the University at Buffalo, we as students strive to protect, promote, and raise awareness of human rights.

"It's better to light a candle than curse the darkness." - Chinese proverb

Amnesty International is a global movement of people fighting injustice and promoting human rights. Amnesty International works to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied. Currently, as the world’s largest grassroots human rights organization, we investigate and expose abuses, educate and mobilize the public, and help transform societies to create a safer, more just world.

Hey everyone! The Buffalo Immigrant and Refugee Leadership Team is holding its Public Meeting today, Thursday, May 11th, from 5:30-7:00pm at Our Lady of Hope RC Church. They are organizing to ensure that Lafayette International School becomes a nationally-recognized model of academic excellence for Buffalo's immigrant, refugee, and Puerto Rican children. Both Congressman Brian Higgins and Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash will be present, so we need to turn out in large numbers to show them that we care about this important issue!
