Fellow Rotarian Walker Deakins has managed the Beds For Kids Program and delivers beds, pillows, bedding, and gifts to referred children in the area who need them. Joao, our exchange student from Brazil gave a touching presentation at Rotary Wednesday. He shared events for each month he was here, and thanked his host families, and our Rotary Club for his experience of a lifetime, and all the great memories. Kyle Weatherly gave a wonderful and informative program on the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) in the Buffalo-Maple Lake area, with an emphasis on their youth--Young Eagles--program. From their website: "Chapter 878 was established in 1986 at the Maple Lake Airport at Maple Lake, Minnesota. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have fun doing so." We were honored today to have Marlene Coleman and her daughter-in-law speak today about Puzzles for a Cause. Marlene brought to life a Buffalo, MN themed 500-piece puzzle for sale at the Lakeview Mall Antiques store in Buffalo. A portion of the proceeds go toward Thumbs Up and the 988 su***de and mental health hotline. This cause is near and dear to her heart and family and we were honored to hear her story.
