The Battle Within Memorial, began as an initiative of Harmonie Lodge #699* is an effort to better understand and address the devastating frequency of Veteran suicides across the country. It’s meant to be both a fitting military salute to the approximately 20+ per day that have tragically died here on our shores, and a forum for issues related to the well-being of Veterans such as PTSD and Traumati

On Memorial Day, Monday May 28, 2018, local Buffalo, NY media covered the unveiling of a permanent memorial proposed for inclusion along Buffalo's Inner Harbor.

Harmonie Lodge #699 is a lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, recognized by the Grand Lodge of New York and one of the oldest continually active lodges in New York State since its inception on November 30, 1869.

Over the years, Memorial Day has lost much of its intended focus, becoming merely the Monday of a three-day holiday, and an excuse for retail sales, BBQ, and parades.
We’re taking back an hour.
The Battle Within Foundation will present a morning of honor and retrospection to celebrate the lives of all our fallen with a non-denominational memorial service.
