There’s something meaningful taking shape through the partnership of JazzBuffalo and Kleinhans Music Hall.

It is a thoughtful balance of tradition, artistry, and forward momentum.

More than a collection of concerts, this is a program taking shape—one that is helping to establish Buffalo as a premier destination for jazz and a home for the Great American Songbook.

We are grateful for the community that continues to support this vision.

An enthusiastic, full house gathered today for an exceptional performance by the John Pizzarelli Trio honoring the legendary Tony Bennett—and it was everything we hope Jazz at Kleinhans can be.

This was a concert that truly reflected the premier nature of the program at the iconic Kleinhans Music Hall—where international artistry in jazz meets the enduring legacy of the Great American Songbook in a way that resonates deeply with our community.

We are grateful—deeply so—to everyone who joined us and helped make this afternoon so special.

And sincere thanks to John Pizzarelli, Mike Karn, and Isaiah J. Thompson for their dedication to excellence in music performance. What they brought to the stage was both heartfelt and masterful.

This is what Jazz at Kleinhans is all about.

Thank you to everyone who joined the sold-out BEATrio performance at Kleinhans Music Hall last night—a fabulous show!

We are deeply grateful for your incredible support of Jazz at Kleinhans.

A special congratulations to Jess Basil of Kleinhans Music Hall for her excellent stewardship in bringing and presenting this unique and extraordinary trio to Buffalo.

This is exactly why Jazz at Kleinhans and Kleinhans Music Hall stand as Buffalo’s premier destination for jazz and the Great American Songbook—welcoming internationally acclaimed artistry to our city.

(Featuring a very cool shot taken last night from the stage by drummer Antonio Sánchez—if you were there, we’d love to hear from you. Please share your thoughts in the comments!)

Thank you for being part of it.

See you Sunday for the John Pizzarelli Trio performance!

A meaningful meeting at The Statler, spending time in the Rendezvous Room, and reflecting on what has been with The Jazz Lounge—and what can be.

Noted is a classic Dean Martin poster and a photo of the room as it once was in the 1940s, complete with its bandstand—reminders of a time when this space was alive with music and the spirit of the Great American Songbook.

Our intention is clear: to build on that historic legacy. To bring back to the Rendezvous Room a level of artistry that honors its past, presenting high-level jazz and the Great American Songbook in a setting that deserves nothing less.

As we look ahead, we’re planning to continue The Jazz Lounge following a two-month summer break.

In the meantime, April is sold out, and limited spots are available for May.

Stay tuned—there is more to come.

A good time to express gratitude for the support The Jazz Lounge received so far!

I had the privilege of joining Lauren Hall on WGRZ - Channel 2, Buffalo’s Most Buffalo, to talk about an exciting moment for Jazz at Kleinhans.

We discussed the recent addition of Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves Celebrate the Ballads of John Coltrane—a truly special event—and the continued growth of Jazz at Kleinhans, taking place at Kleinhans Music Hall.

What’s especially meaningful is how quickly this program is gaining recognition beyond our city—establishing itself on the international jazz stage as Buffalo’s premier destination for jazz, the Great American Songbook, and a home for world-renowned artistry.

This is how we put Buffalo on the global stage—through internationally acclaimed music, shared experiences, and a community that believes in it.

Grateful for the opportunity—and excited for what’s ahead.
