We are hosting our annual William L Gaiter Parkway Community Cleanup and planting in partnership with The Tool Library, and we would love your support.

Our mission is "beautifying our community one block at a time," and here is what we have planned:
• Trash pickup and tree stewardship along the Parkway.
• Planting mini-gardens at the corners of E. Delavan and Wyoming Ave. and Northumberland Ave
• Refreshing the three planters on Norfolk Ave
To get the job done, we need people power!!! This is a great opportunity for local students who need to complete community service hours before the end of the school year.
• A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

I hope to see you this Saturday. We will meet at the corner of Norfolk Ave and E. Delavan at 10 AM. I am looking forward to working with you all to clean up our neighborhood!

Thank you!!

Syracuse got highway removal by submitting 5725 comments. We have set a of 6000 comments!! Help us out by sharing this with friends and comrades.

As many of you surely know, NYS DOT (recently rebranded as Queen City Forward) is in the pre-scoping phase of the Environmental Impact Statement. That means the project objectives are being set— supposedly based on community input.

This is your chance (AGAIN!) to tell NYS DOT what you want for your community. Last time they prioritized “maintaining vehicular capacity” but we know the community deserves to have their HEALTH PRIORITIZED.

Prioritizing the health of intentionally underserved neighborhoods is not a wild idea— it is ACTUALLY A LAW, though a law that hasn’t been followed very well yet. ( knows)

NYS DOT must start following the terms of the Community Leadership and Climate Protection Act (CLCPA). This means taking care of the PEOPLE & taking steps to reduce vehicle-miles-traveled.

ALSO! Buffalo’s East Side should get what Syracuse, Rochester, Albany, Niagara Falls, and even North Buffalo are all getting— HIGHWAY REMOVAL.
(And yo, the highway removal that North Buffalo is poised to get is also the original Humboldt Parkway— it’s all one parkway! We can’t fully restore Humboldt without combining these two projects.)

Tell NYS DOT/QCF that you want to see the health of the community prioritized AND you want the full restoration of Humboldt Parkway.

The world is on 🔥
We need more 🌳🌳
