It’s National FCCLA week! February is Career and Technical Education Month. Each year, FCCLA joins the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) and the entire CTE community to celebrate CTE Month! During the month of February, ACTE encourages everyone to explore and learn the amazing accomplishments, achievements and contributions of career and technical education (CTE) professionals, students and alumni with the theme "Opportunities for Career Success." Pictured below is just a handful of our state qualifying members making it count! Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Chelsea Harter

BHS Region IV FCCLA officers Pari Jarawala and Shelby Johnston were given the opportunity to speak at the Buffalo Lion’s Club meeting today about FCCLA and possible collaboration on community service projects. The BHS FCCLA will be collecting used eye glasses and gently used shoes this year for the Buffalo Lion’s Club, and we hope to find other ways to serve our community this year. We had a fantastic experience at the State Leadership Conference. These young people were absolutely amazing. In a time that has been challenging, to say the least, each of these leaders stepped up and out to showcase the best they could offer.

We are thankful beyond end to Mr. Clements, Mr. Freeman, and the BISD School Board for allowing them the opportunity to travel and compete in person. Undeniably, these kids were truly thankful and you could see it in their attitude, smiles, and willingness to be show what it means to be a team player. They’ve been challenged to remain grateful even when we return to “normal.”

It takes a village and we are thankful for the BISD faculty and staff for preparing these kids to showcase their talents. We appreciate Coach and Mrs. Skelton for always volunteering to evaluate and mentor our members while at conferences. Thanks to our transportation department for coordinating travel especially Mr. Frazee for the drop off and pickup.
