With the end of summer, we were delighted to receive a substantial grant from Senator April Baskin. This funding will significantly enhance our youth program and ATI initiatives. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Senator Baskin for your unwavering support.

Additionally, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the youth who participated in our summer employment opportunity. We also want to acknowledge the funders who generously supported this paid opportunity. We eagerly anticipate preparing for another successful summer in 2027.

Yesterday, we concluded our summer youth leadership development program with a back-to-school book bag giveaway organized by the youth themselves. We engaged in conversations with families, shared meals, and even participated in a friendly basketball game. Even our executive director joined in the fun, shooting hoops with the youth.

Over the past week, our youth have engaged in conversations with two upcoming state assembly members. Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of speaking with the esteemed Majority Leader of the Buffalo Common Council (Ellicott) Leah Halton Pope, and this past Thursday, we had the opportunity to meet Adam Bojak (AD149). Our youth justice policy plank is progressing steadily into the fall. We eagerly anticipate our upcoming trip to Albany in January, where we will have the chance to discuss youth justice with many more elected officials.
