Food Pantry Friday: Did you know that we have veterans in our Food Distribution Program? Across the United States, veterans and military families visit food banks and food pantries to help make ends meet. Some of the reasons why:

Low Income: Many veterans, especially those who are older or have disabilities, may not have enough money for food.
Trouble Finding Work: Leaving the military can be a big change. Veterans need time to find jobs and housing and this can make it hard to have a steady income to buy food.
Impact of Military Service: Some veterans have physical and mental conditions from their time in the military. These conditons can make it hard to work or manage daily life, making it harder to afford food.

Help us help all the families that come to Gerard Place for food. For more information, please contact Kathy: 716-897-9948 x 101 or visit our website: gerardplace.org for our Food Pantry Wish List. Thank you for your support.

'Tis the season for canning all those veggies still left in your vegetable garden! Chef Phil had our Senior Circle members busy learning how to prepare and can green tomato relish. And what pairs perfectly with relish? Smash burgers! For more information on our Senior Program, please contact Rosa: 716-897-9948 x 118.

We are very grateful to Fresenius Kabi for supporting us throughout the year. Their most recent collection drive was non-persihable food items for our Food Pantry and school supplies. Their commitment to helping the community is outstanding and we are so appreciative of their continued support of Gerard Place!
