Hi Boaters,

The wait is almost over!!!

*The marina officially opens May 15th.
*The IJK Dock gate is still padlocked until the gangway is made safe to use. Those wanting to put their dock boxes on the dock can use the open gates or just wait till the 15th.
*Available now at the ship store: Get your (2) 2024 parking passes, and (2) new Key Fobs as the old ones are obsolete.
Additional fobs can be purchased at a later time.
*Before you put your boat in the water SLM needs current insurance info and Registration (this is on the side of your boat and this is how SLM can identify your vessel). They also need 2024 signed contract and payment.
*SLM said that you can keep additional PWC/Dingy/Kayak etc in your slip ONLY if it FITS in your slip. If it doesn't it will be removed.
*If you have a dock box to be installed call so SLM can install it for you. Dock Box must be white/beige, 22" deep 30" high and no longer than your slip.
*Please put these Important numbers to all your phones so they can easily be accessed in case of emergencies:

*Gas dock: Please have Dock Lines READY and attached to your boat before you get there. Always have Blowers on and no smoking, etc. Fires at gas docks happen and our harbor is no exception, so lets be safe.
*For those boaters new to the marina..our marina has a we**am that faces our marina and is accessible 24/7. You will need to get the REOLINK app on your cell phone then scan the QR code that is available at the ship store. It's handy to check out the weather and the flag to see the wind before you go to the marina.
* We understand that starting May 15,
ship store will be open 7 days a week 10-8
Gas dock open 8-8.
keep in mind that these times may change.
*We will post more information in the coming weeks. Get those boats looking good as we start another fun boating season and remember to stay safe.

Hi Boaters,
As some of you already know, Nanette Pease has been promoted to be our new Harbor Master. Congratulations Nanette!
*We understand that the key fobs and parking passes for docks A-E are now available for pick up at the harbor office. Docks F-K won't be ready till April 29th.
*The main old pier is currently being rebuilt and improved. It was never damaged but do for improvements to insure its strength and safety.
*The gangways have padlocks placed on them because they are unsafe. They will be repaired before the marina opens. Opening day is still set for May 15, if earlier it will be announced.
*We understand that there are still a lot of slip holders that have not paid for their slip. Management has been trying to contact them, and given the confusion on slip payment this year, allowed them more time to pay.
*There are a few open slips if anyone wants to move for docks A-E. Contact the office for more information. Once it is known who doesn't intend to pay for their slip more slips throughout the marina will be open. Not sure when this will happen.
*Remember to call the harbor office with your questions as this site is not the marina. Harbor office hours are 11-4 M-F and by appointment. That will change once the marina is officially open.
*Please share this site with others as many do not know we are here to held with marina communication. Don't forget to start getting those boats ready for their splashdown...It will be here before you know it.!

Hi Boaters,

This is a reminder from the Harbor office that payments for slips was March 19. Do to the confusion of the change to email payment notification, the deadline for payment has been extended to April 5. Please call or visit the harbor office with your payment. Someone will be in the office Mon-Sat 11-4, or by appointment.

No word yet as to who will take over as Harbor Master but we understand that it will be announced shortly.
Remember this FB site is not managed by the Marina, it's purpose is to foster communication within the Harbor. If you have specific questions about slips, etc please contact the Marina directly.

FYI...Charlie's Boat Yard will be open for the season on April 8th.

Please share this site with other slip holders, as many new to the Marina are not aware of it's existence and start getting those boats ready.

Hi Boaters,

We have learned that, Keith Pease, is stepping down as our Harbor Master. This announcement was a surprise and we were saddened to hear this. We are sharing the following message Keith wrote on Facebook. We will share more updates when they become available.

After much thought and consideration, it’s with a heavy heart that I tell you that I will no longer be the Harbor master at Sunlife. I hope I have left you with a better Harbor than when I first arrived. I consider you all friends and I wish nothing but the best for all of you. i'm not going away. I am just moving on to a new adventure to all the people I have met in my 9+ years there I consider you friends and hope to continue that friendship.Nanette will still be there and she has the pulse of the marina. she's the perfect person for that job treat her kindly, love one another and enjoy the summer

Hi Boaters,

It's been over a year since this site was active. We had some issues with this site but now is all fixed. Our goal with establishing this site many years ago was to provide communication within the harbor and rest assured, this remains our goal.

last year every slip holder that wanted to secure their slip for the 2024 season had been instructed to pay $100. Failure to do this meant that you didn't intend to hold your slip for 2024 and someone else could take it. The $100 that was paid will be used toward the 2024 slip rental.

Moving forward to this 2024 season for paying for your slip.

We understand that many slip holders are confused because, in the past, the Marina mailed every slipholder that paid their $100 a written bill for payment for their slip.

From what we understand, no bills were mailed. Everyone was emailed an invoice on or about 1/19/2024 from [email protected] with a link to view and pay their bill online. You were told that you can also pay by cash in person, mail a check payable to "Go Outdoors Buffalo Harbor"and also use a credit card using the link or call the harbor office or in person. The due date for payment is 3/19/2024. The marina phone 716-828-0027.

We hope this information is helpful and that you will call the harbor office with your questions. We are not sure if there are scheduled marina office times. If anyone knows if office hours have been set please let us know. We will be posting more soon. Hope everyone is getting excited about the start to this 2024 Boating Season. Your Boat is probably missing you!

Hi Boaters,

It has been a while since we last posted and now, sad to say, the 2022 boating season is over. Some updates:
*We know most of you have put down your $100 deposit for next year. The deadline was Oct 15th but if you haven't done it, there is a little more time before the management opens up slips with no deposit, to other slip holders who want to move their slip.
*There are still about 18 boats in the marina, even though the marina officially closed on Oct 15. If you are one of them , please remove it immediately! Management said they are preparing to move the gas dock, other docks and attenuators inside our break wall and will block entrance to canals. This needs to be done in good weather and crews need to move fast before incumbent weather comes.
*Lighting in the parking lot and at gates has been an issue. Management said that they had power lines run to each gangway so that there will be hard wire lighting at each gate entrance. All lights that were out in the parking lot have been replaced.
*We asked about the bathrooms, as many boaters have complained, especially about limited access to the south bathroom. Management is aware and are trying a new FOB set up for gates and south end bathrooms. However, they said there are no guarantees with the lack of internet down that far in the harbor.
We asked if porta potties could be placed in the parking lot. Maybe with Fab locks. They said that wouldn't be possible. They are hoping that the new fobs at the south end bathrooms will work and allow 24/7 access to them. Lets keep out fingers crossed.

Hi Boaters,

Just a reminder that Friday 8/12 6-10pm is the memorial benefit for Mike Perry. Please see the flyer that is posted on our last post for more details. There are amazing gift to be auctioned, a plane ride for 2, a helicopter ride over Niagara Falls, 2 jet boat rides in Lewiston, a fishing excursion, 2 gift certificates for boat winterizations, and a signed Josh Allen jersey with authentic certification. Also, there will be many big ticket items raffled including a Huge Booze wagon along with lots of baskets. Slip Holders have an opportunity to win their slip free for the 2022-2023 season by purchasing a raffle ticket for $50 at the ship store. Tickets still available, $30 pre sale, $35 at the door and includes food, beer, wine and live music.

We are sharing this flyer in hopes that you would consider supporting this fundraiser for Mike Perry. Many of you will recognize Mike from our harbor and his previous work in the Erie County Sheriff's Mounted Division and as a part time police officer in several different towns.
As part of the Benefit, Slip Holders have an opportunity to win their slip free for the 2022-2023 season by purchasing a raffle ticket for $50 at the ship store.

Hi Boaters,

Some slip holders are posting their slips for rent on Craigslist and Air B&B. Sun Life Marina wants all slip holders to know This is NOT acceptable for so many reasons! Management needs to know who is in what slip and must have a signed contract with that person as well as a copy of the registration and insurance with Sun Life Marina as additional insurance. Slip Holders are not allowed to sub let or rent their slips. If a slip holder can't us their slip they should leave it empty or speak to Keith and get a refund so someone on a wait list can get it.
Management said that whoever is found to be doing this will LOSE their slip immediately and will not be allowed back in the marina!
If anyone knows of a slip being sublet please let Keith know.
Not knowing who is in our marina is a SAFETY Issue for all in the marina and this situation can't be treated lightly.

Hi Boaters,

Harbor info:
*New hours for the Ship Store till May 15
10am-4pm Monday-Friday
*Pump outs will still be free for slip holders Monday-Friday. There will be a $10 charge if you only pump out and don't get gas on Saturday and Sunday. Pump out is $10 for NON slip holders.
*Because parking is at a premium, SL askes that if you plan on taking your boat in or out this year, that you do it Monday through
Friday. Our ramp will be closed Saturday and Sunday. You can always launch for free at the public ramp and park in the "TRAILERS ONLY" area of our lot or park in the public launch lot. If your trailer is in our lot and not in this designated area, it will be ticketed.
*Display you parking pass when in our slip holders lot. This years passes can be easily hung on the inside car mirror. If the pass isn't displayed you will be ticketed. Please encourage your guests to utilize the parking on Fuhrmann or any other non slip holder area.
*Reolink is our app to view our harbor. If you don't have it,
ask how to get your phone connected when at the ship store.

Now, lets all hope for good, warmer and wind free weather so the harbor crew can get the harbor ready for our boats. All this cold and yes, snow has got to end soon. Please!

Hi Boaters,

24... that's number of days till our harbor is scheduled to open after a long winter! Management said it has started any repairs that are needed and will start getting the water and power on and check for anything that's not right with them. If the weather holds they will begin moving docks back into place next Monday morning, They plan to open May 15 as scheduled.
As most of you know, our harbor is sold out.
Make sure the office has a copy of your boat insurance and vessel Registration.
Remember that the harbor no longer allows snap together dock boxes. If you already have one out there they will be removed and stored for you in the shop. Oversized dock boxes will be removed as well. This is for no other reason then safety for all.
If you are looking for a dock box it must be white or beige, 22" deep 30" high and no wider then your slip. We understand that there will be some available for sale in our Slip store.
You can pick up your 2022 parking passes and fobs at the ship store Monday-Saturday 9:00am-3:30pm.
As always, you will have 2 fobs and 2 parking passes for each slip. Last years fobs will need to be reprogramed for you , so don't forget to bring them with you.
