HHF in collaboration with the ministry of health and Government of
The DRC had a national COVID-19 response plan and implemented
measures such as border closures and restrictions on public
gatherings to contain the virus. We also distributed masks,
conducted testing and contact tracing, and started vaccinating,
though progress was slow due to limited supplies.

HHF teams in Harare, Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 have demonstrated that through by focusing on environmental health and the protection of water sources, the frequency and scale of diarrheal disease outbreaks can be reduced, which can benefit communities
immensely when given access to clean water.
"To mitigate water scarcity and recurrent diarrheal outbreaks,
HHF's Environmental Health project has started rehabilitating the existing boreholes. The main focus is to provide clean water to the community members and understand the underlying causes of bacteriological contamination in borehole water," - Danish Malik,
HHF Health Water Sanitation and Hygiene coordinator.

👆🏼Take a look at the wastewater management project in Stoneridge, which has replaced the community's old septic tanks, which were prone to leaks, with a new communal wastewater management system, preventing groundwater contamination.
