Anarchy In Action

Anarchy In Action We are an anarchist community organization which promotes personal responsibility toward one's local Welcome! Helping one another is the name of the game.

To accomplish our mission, AIA’s direct action takes a multi-pronged approach. As with any movement for change, a diversity of tactics is important for success. First and foremost, we employ regular efforts at good old fashioned community service. Small actions like community cleanups help to show the city that anarchism is about helping others. Through high-visibility and low-commitment activity

like this, we can demonstrate to people how easy it is to get engaged and leave their city better than they found it. The second part of AIA’s strategy incorporates long-term projects which take research, dedication, and getting our hands dirty. These projects are intended to establish sustainable and independent “parallel systems” that put responsibility and accountability back into the hands of local communities. This is also a great way to encourage sustainability in the way we as a society conduct our lives, and to remind of the importance of environmental stewardship of both our natural and human-made environment. Lastly, Anarchy In Action makes a point to lend a hand to other groups with whom we share common goals. We believe in the South American anarchist ideal of “especifismo,” which insists on the creation of a specifically anarchist ideological organization such as that argues for a coherent anarchism, while participating in action for broad social good. There are many amazing and inspiring groups in Buffalo that already work toward great things.

The "Decolonized Minds" art showcase is going on through March 14 at Amy's Place (3234 Main St) in Buffalo, NY! Come out for a bite to eat and check us out!

The "Decolonized Minds" exhibition features works by Morgan Jamie Dunbar and MacNore Iman, a Buffalo-based design duo known as Conscious Creationz 716. By challenging the constructs of colonization, whether they present externally or internally, we are able to empower ourselves with the tools of liberation.

The work aims to provoke examination of personal identity and encourages the blurring of socially accepted margins in an effort to contest limitations of Self. Boundaries do not exist outside of perception. Decolonized minds challenge the conscious collective to reject the separation inherent in a colonized assessment of Self and the restrictions present when we accept boundaries to our own creativity.

**ATTENTION** It's been 50 years since the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and we still have neither. Our country is in the middle of a depression. The New Jim Crow is incarcerating people at an alarming rate.

The conditions that brought about the Civil Rights Movement haven't changed radically and our freedoms are being eroded every day. This is the beginning of a New Civil Rights Movement picking up where the last one was murdered.
