THE TIME IS NOW!!

In this pre-scoping period, the DOT is setting new project objectives. In the past a primary objective was to “maintain vehicular capacity” and that is NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

It’s actually dangerous.
And irresponsible.

The residents in the Humboldt Parkway neighborhood deserve better. And NYS climate law backs that up.

Please submit a comment to NYSDOT.

Tell them to:

•PRIORITIZE COMMUNITY HEALTH;
•combine the 198 & 33 projects, in order to
•FULLY RESTORE HUMBOLDT PKWY

On July 8th, we sent a clear message to local elected officials. We asked them to do 3 things:

1. Endorse the Evict ICE 250 Delaware campaign
2. Do it publicly and help spread the word
3. Stop taking political donations from the Montante family until ICE is evicted

Weeks later, we still haven’t heard from Mayor Sean Ryan, County Executive Mark Poloncarz, Governor Hochul, and many more.

Our neighbors are disappearing. ICE is acting with impunity. Silence is a choice. It’s time for elected officials to pick a side.

Join us. Demand they endorse Evict ICE 250 Delaware NOW. 👇

Thank you to the officials who already stood with us:
✅ Assemblymember Jon Rivera
✅ Niagara Council Member David Rivera
✅ Erie County Legislators Taisha St. Jean T**d, Lawrence Dupre, and Jeannie Vinal

Evict ICE and Our City Action Buffalo would like to formally thank David A. Rivera Legislator Lawrence Dupre Legislator Taisha St. Jean T**d Jon Rivera and Legislator Jeanne Vinal for endorsing the Evict ICE campaign. With each day we are witnessing growing support from our elected officials AND their constituents.

Our endorsement list continues to grow every week. Our weekly actions continue to grow and we will not stop fighting until Uniland Development HALTS profiting off of the kidnapping of our immigrant brothers and sisters.

Recent election results are proof that the power does NOT lie in corporate donations but in a willingness to show up and put morals at the forefront of civic duty. Corporations profiting from detention, family separation and fear have no business funding our elections.

We have one question: WHO IS NEXT?

We call on every elected official in WNY to:
1. Endorse the Evict ICE campaign
2. Call on Uniland to refuse to renew ICE’s lease
3. Refuse campaign contributions from Uniland Development (AKA the Montante Family)

To the elected officials we have not heard back from, we see you. Your silence will not help you. We will be in contact. History is watching. Your constituents are watching.

7 people. That’s how many ICE has fatally shot since Trump’s second term began. 52 more died in ICE detention in the first 500 days alone.

ICE runs this system with help from landlords like Uniland Development, which leases them office space right here in Buffalo at 250 Delaware Avenue.

The lease is up March 31, 2027. Uniland has a choice: keep profiting off detention and deportation, or commit publicly to not renewing.

We’re not waiting until 2027 to ask. Evict ICE from 250 Delaware NOW. 🗣️

Deputy Commissioner Craig Macy was caught on video shoving a pedestrian to the ground on Chippewa Street last Saturday. Commissioner Shields called it “concerning” and says the Buffalo Police Department is reviewing the incident.

Reviewing isn’t enough. BPD policy says any employee facing serious, disruptive, or detrimental allegations gets suspended. That policy has to apply to a deputy commissioner just like it applies to any officer on the force.

The city needs real solutions: nightlife venues and community safety groups working together on prevention, lawmakers looking at approaches that address root causes, and a police department that holds its own accountable to the people it’s sworn to protect.

We’re calling on Commissioner Shields to suspend Deputy Commissioner Macy. Swipe through for the full statement. 👉

Today marks 250 years since 1776. But freedom in this country was never handed out equally, and it still isn’t. Black communities, Indigenous communities, immigrants, women, LGBTQ and so many others have spent those 250 years fighting for rights that were promised on paper but denied in practice.

We’re not interested in a sanitized version of American history. The scars are real and they’re still healing. Real freedom means everybody gets it, not just some of us.

Today we’re honoring that fight and recommitting to it.

We will not let right-wing hate be a part of our community.

Buffalo hasn’t had 4th of July fireworks since 2015. That’s not new. It has nothing to do with cultural flag raisings, which happen all year for communities across Buffalo — Italian Festival, St. Patrick’s Day, Dyngus Day. No complaints, no outrage.

Now the Somali flag has gone missing from its pole.

We see what this is. Hate, discrimination, and bigotry will not be tolerated in our community.

It’s our city. It’s our WNY. For everyone.
