2. JULY 19, 2025: THE MISSING-CHILD REPORT
As The Trip Came To An End, Melina Did Not Return Home As Expected.
Her Father Reported That She Had Been Abducted By Two Men In A White Van Near A Rest Stop In The Lake George Area Of New York.
The Report Triggered An Amber Alert And An Urgent Search For A Missing
Nine-Year-Old Child.

3. JULY 20, 2025: THE SEARCH ENDS IN HEARTBREAK
The Following Day, Searchers Found Melina’s Body In A Shallow Pond In The Ticonderoga Area Of Upstate New York.
Her Body Had Been Partially Concealed Beneath A Fallen Tree, With A Large Rock On Her Chest.
The Medical Examiner Determined That Melina Died From Asphyxia Due To Drowning. Her Death Was Classified As A Homicide.
A Child Who Had Been Reported Abducted Was Now The Victim Of A Homicide Investigation.
4. THE INVESTIGATION: WHEN THE EVIDENCE CHALLENGED THE STORY

The Jury Reached Its Verdict After Approximately One Hour Of Deliberation.
The Verdict Established Criminal Accountability Under The Law. But No Verdict Could Restore Melina’s Life Or Return Her To The Family Who Loved Her.
6. OCTOBER 14, 2026: SENTENCING
Luciano Frattolin Was Sentenced To 25 Years To Life In Prison For Murder, Followed By An Additional One To Three Years For Concealing Melina’s Body.
The Sentences Were Ordered To Run Consecutively.
His Defense Has Filed An Appeal.
