Family..... Look what 25 years can do!!!!!!

It is something SO Powerful within this Image!!!

The Understanding that We are where We are Supposed to be. That History is being made. Every Day. Testimonies are being Built!!! Building takes time & lessons, it's not overnight. The days and time, around when I took this photo... Was when I kept seeing all these Old Vacant Buildings in Buffalo in a different way.

I had always seen the Beauty in the old buildings in and around Buffalo, and even in the vacant ones. I often thought of what I could do, if I had the opportunity to obtain one of those old vacant builidings.

It always hurt my heart, to see so many buildings in Buffalo, having been, being, and those that will be, torn down. I couldn't place why exactly, beyond that a piece of history, was being taken down to be forgotten. I later would associate this with some of my own feelings of abandonment and loss. It was like these properties were given up on, forgotten about, abandoned, and then torn down, to finalize that process. Those living would have memories fade, and the new babies born, would not have any knowledge at all.

Going back, while I did have such thoughts of doing something with an old property for years, prior to this timeframe, it was different. It was this time in my life, that I had a clearer vision, of how I could ReUse & Revitalize an old vacant property. On my heart, was specifically a school, to help other people, families, by way of a community center became an added piece of the vision.

That was also the day I used the app to turn it into a mosaic image.

Mosaic... Became so Beautiful to me... Broken but Beautiful... I was at a Broken space in my Life and In Time for me. I was shifting from having what I thought was a Family... To officially being a single mother. This is not to throw anyone under the bus. We both, were not prepared for what we had embarking on.

Even through the brokenness and unhealthiness of my Family... I had a security there... And I was determined to be better and do better.. And to give my son an experience different from me & my childhood... Having his Father in the home... No matter the cost...

In the space of which I took this photo... Feeling my Family was Broken... I saw beauty in the things around me.. But not in myself... I knew I could do Beautiful things for others.. But felt like a Failure at making my Family work.

It wasn't until almost a year later that it's weight shifted... And I will share that along w the photo that I added the words to. The focus here was simply... Broken can still be Beautiful.
