I am honored to be part of this important panel discussion following the screening of *Make a Circle* on June 10 at the Buffalo History Museum.

For more than 35 years, I have had the privilege of caring for children and supporting families as a group family day care provider. During that time, I have worked with children in foster care, children experiencing homelessness, children with special needs, single-parent families, and grandparents raising their grandchildren.

This work has taught me that child care is about so much more than caring for children. It is about supporting families, creating stability when life feels uncertain, and building strong communities.

I will be sharing the family day care perspective and talking about the children, families, and providers who are the heart of this work.

Child care is everyone's business. When children thrive, families thrive. When families thrive, communities thrive.

I am excited to join Cheryl Williams-Manney, Joe Cozzo, Sheri Scavone, and moderator Rachel Bonsignore for what I know will be a meaningful conversation.

Buffalo Family Daycare Providers Need a Voice.

I’m planning to attend the NYAEYC Conference this month to represent family daycare providers from Buffalo, as we currently have very limited representation at the table.

While attending, I will be networking and engaging in conversations around critical issues that directly impact our community:
• Erie County’s $22 million deficit and how it affects family daycare providers
• Long waiting lists for child care assistance
• Universal child care and how it will impact family daycare providers

This year, I am responsible for covering the cost of the conference, hotel, and travel.
