Did you know Black Boys Read Too also places bookshelves in school buildings?

These bookshelves give children and families opportunities to read while waiting in the office or to enjoy a book after school.

By creating these shared spaces, we help make literacy visible, accessible, and part of everyday school life.

This year, we’ve continued to place books in barbershops, schools, clinics, and community centers and we’re just getting started. Every shelf we restock, every book we give away, and every child who lights up at a story reminds us why this work matters.

This week, Black Boys Read Too had the joy of participating in Ben Franklin Elementary School’s Wellness Fair. We were excited to connect with families and proud to give away over 200 brand-new, diverse books to young readers in the community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, and helped us continue our mission of inspiring a love for reading.
