Black Boys Read Too had an amazing time at Literacy Night at Lockport High School! 📚✨

Thank you to the team at Lockport High School for inviting and welcoming us. We truly appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a special event.

Our team loved connecting with families, sharing our mission, and putting brand new culturally diverse books into the hands of young readers. Moments like these remind us why this work matters.❤️

We had an egg-cellent time at the annual Sweetest Eggstravaganza this weekend!

Thank you to Diane and the Sweetest Mission Foundation for inviting Black Boys Read Too to be part of such a special event. We were able to give away over 200 brand new, culturally diverse books while connecting with so many amazing families in the community.

This is always one of our favorite events of the year, and it did not disappoint, we had an incredible time once again! ✨👦🏽👦🏾👦🏿✨

Welcome to the Black Boys Read Too bookshelf family, Main Pediatrics 📚✨

Today, we had the pleasure of placing a bookshelf filled with brand new, culturally diverse books in their space for families to enjoy while waiting for appointments.

We’re so grateful to Main Pediatrics for welcoming us into their office and for supporting our mission to make books that reflect our children more accessible in everyday community spaces.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Black Boys Read Too! 🎉

On March 2, 2022, we were founded on Read Across America Day with a simple but powerful mission: to ensure Black boys see themselves reflected, celebrated, and affirmed through books.

Four years later, that mission has turned into thousands of FREE books in the hands of children, a network of bookshelves placed in barbershops and other community spaces, and countless moments of joy, pride, and possibility sparked by reading. 📚✨

What started as an idea is now a growing movement powered by community, fueled by love, and rooted in the belief that representation in literacy matters.

As we celebrate another year of impact, we’re also looking ahead. Your support helps us continue expanding access to diverse books, reaching more children, and deepening our community partnerships. These bookshelves give children and families opportunities to read while waiting in the office or to enjoy a book after school.
