The Climate Change Superfund Act has been passed! 🎉🎉

This historic act requires fossil fuel companies to pay for their harms, creating $3 billion annually over 25 years to counter the effects of climate change on our climate and our communities.

The legislative session ends tomorrow on the day of the eclipse— so here’s our youth in climate op-ed wrap up! (And info on recycling your eclipse glasses!)

On the left, YCC co-organizer Valerie Juang co-signs an op-ed to invest in SUNY geothermal systems that will advance NYS clean energy, as put forward by community labor groups.

On the right, YCC co-organizer River Braverman continues the fight for Climate Education Bill S278A/A1559A that establishes a course of instruction for climate education as needed for a Just Transition. Shoutout to for heading the charge on this bill!

To all registered Democrats: Vote THIS WEEKEND and this Tuesday! Vote this weekend from 9 am to 5 pm at any early voting location site or this Tuesday from 6 am to 9 pm at your polling site. Visit our link in bio to find early voting locations, your Election Day polling site, and a tool to show you what your district is.

All endorsed candidates were thoroughly vetted for knowledge and approach across four climate justice categories: climate resiliency, housing, equity, and community/political leadership. This includes being in support of a Buffalo City Office of Sustainability as well as housing protections such as the Tenant Bill of Rights and Good Cause Eviction and beyond. Their plans include a wide breadth of solutions tailored to their specific districts, as necessary to address climate justice and the needs of all their community members.
