October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and “Soon the Cure” campaign is back for its 15th year.

We stand with every woman in the fight.

Since 2012, this campaign has championed early detection, awareness, and access to care, particularly among Black women, who face higher breast cancer mortality rates and are more likely to be diagnosed with aggressive forms of the disease.

We send care packages, share faith-building resources, and pray with women before screening, during treatment, and long after.

Jesus spoke Revelation 3:8 to the church in Philadelphia, a congregation He described as having “little strength.”

They were small by the world’s standards, yet they kept His Word and stayed true to His name.

Jesus saw it.

“I know your deeds,” He told them.

Then came the promise: “See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” (Revelation 3:8 NIV)

In the biblical world, an open door meant God-given access and opportunity. Jesus opened this one Himself, and His authority stands behind it.

God sees faithfulness that other people overlook.

He sees the days you kept believing when your strength was low.

He sees the prayers you prayed while tired.

He sees every time you chose obedience and held onto His Word.

Heaven has been paying attention.

The One who holds “the key of David” still opens doors today.

So keep the faith. The door rests on His authority, and when Jesus opens it, He has the final say.

God is here too.

There are seasons when darkness disorients us. We cannot see what God is doing, where He is leading, or how any of it will work out.

David understood that feeling.

In Psalm 139:11-12, he pictures the darkness closing in around him, then says to God, “the darkness and the light are both alike to thee” (v. 12 KJV).

Our sight gives out in the dark. His never does.

The place where you cannot see a way forward is fully visible to God, and His hand is holding you steady through all of it.

If you are in a season where nothing makes sense right now, may you sense His nearness in the dark.

Again, God is here too.

God wants us to remember.

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” (Hebrews 13:16 NIV).

When we give, God delights in it, and our sacrifices become tangible expressions of His love.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19 NIV)

God spoke these words to Israel as He promised deliverance from exile.

He had just reminded them of the Exodus, when He made a way through the Red Sea, and then He told them to stop dwelling on the former things.

His next move would look different from His last one.

At the Red Sea, God made dry ground through water. In Isaiah 43, He promised water through dry ground.

Same God, new method.

The Hebrew behind “springs up” carries the picture of a sprout pushing through soil.
God’s work was already emerging, even though they could not yet recognize it.

You may be looking for God to move the way He moved before.

You may be expecting the same door, the same method, the same kind of answer.

God is not limited to what He did last time.

He is doing something fresh!

There are moments when prayer feels painfully one-sided.

You have spoken. You have cried. You have waited. And still, nothing around you seems to be moving.

Micah understood this well. He wrote, “Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me” (Micah 7:7 KJV).

He looks, waits, and trusts that God hears.

The Hebrew word translated “look” carries the sense of watching expectantly. Micah is focusing his attention on God while his circumstances remain unresolved.

When he says, “my God will hear me,” he is expressing confidence in the Lord’s covenant faithfulness.

His certainty is rooted in the reliability of God, so it is not swayed by the instability of his circumstances.

When you find yourself still standing in the space between prayer and manifestation, and all you can do is whisper, “Lord, help,” that’s enough. God hears.

And at the appointed time, He will bring the answer, the breakthrough, the deliverance you have been waiting for.

Hold fast. God is listening, and He is working.

25 years ago today, courage looked like ordinary people running toward danger while the rest of us stood still.

We remember them, and we remember the God who was present in the wreckage, in the rescue, and in every act of love that refused to be afraid.

Today, Empowering Everyday Women prays for the families still carrying that loss, and for a nation that will forever bear those wounds.

Waiting is agonizing when you know God has promised you more.

But the waiting season is doing incredible work.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”

The Hebrew word for wait, qavah, means to wait with expectation.

It comes from a root meaning to twist strands together into a cord. A single strand breaks under pressure. Strands twisted together become strong enough to bear weight.

That is what waiting is doing to your faith.

Every day you keep trusting, every prayer you keep praying, every moment you resist giving up, another strand is strengthened, binding your faith more tightly to God’s faithfulness.

The Hebrew word for renew, chalaph, means to exchange one thing for another, the way a relay runner hands the baton to fresh legs.

When your strength runs out, God gives you fresh strength to continue.

The waiting is strengthening you to carry the weight of what God has promised, and giving you the endurance to reach the appointed time.

And when that time comes, you will discover that the waiting did not weaken you. It prepared you.

From villages and orphanages to refugee camps, remote communities, and churches, Empowering Everyday Women is meeting practical needs and sharing the love of Christ in places where help is often hardest to reach.

Every bag of food, every vital resource, and every helping hand carries a powerful message: Jesus sees you. Jesus loves you. Jesus has not forgotten you.
