Today was all about fresh ingredients, hands-on learning, and community.

We had an amazing time at the food forest, where attendees had the opportunity to harvest basil and learn how to make fresh pesto during a hands-on cooking demonstration led by CCE Erie County A huge thank you to Cornell Cooperative Extension for leading such an engaging and delicious experience. Moments like these remind us that growing food is about so much more than gardening. It is about education, connection, wellness, and building community. 💚

“Fridays at the Gail V. Wells Food Forest” We hope you’ll join us on upcoming Fridays this August for two informative presentations that showcase the bounty of the Gail V. Wells Food Forest. On Friday, August 14th we are harvesting basil and sharing how to make pesto. Later in the month, on August 28th, we will be presenting on seed saving as the transition to fall approaches. Each presentation is taking place from 1-2pm at the Gail V. Wells Food Forest in JFK Park near the intersection of East Eagle and Pine Streets. Thank you to our partner Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County CCE Erie County for the support in putting this event together.
