Celebrating our 2026 community grant recipients! 🎉

The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove and Buffalo Grove Community Foundation are excited and proud to announce 20 area nonprofits and organizations as recipients of nearly $30,000 in grants to help them continue doing great work in our community and region.

Funding for the joint community grant program is made possible through donated proceeds from the annual Buffalo Grove Days festival and our club’s Duck Race, held during BG Days. Thank you BG for making this possible, and congratulations to each of our community grant recipients!

The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove participated in an environmental project at the Buffalo Grove Prairie by sowing native seeds and removing litter along the fence line west of the prairie.

By establishing a cover crop, we will protect the soil from erosion and invasive species, and prepare it for over-seeding in the fall.

The Buffalo Grove Prairie Guardians appreciate Rotary’s generous donation and help with this project!

Congratulations to our 2025 Buffalo Grove Rotary Firefighter of the Year, Brian Chrencik! 👨‍🚒🏆

Firefighter/Paramedic Chrencik is a five-year veteran of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department and serves as a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team. He was selected for the Department's top honor for showing tremendous knowledge in the performance of his duties by training his colleagues and serving as a paramedic preceptor.

Administratively, he has spent countless hours working on BGFD's reporting system and provides regular updates on software patches. Firefighter/Paramedic Chrencik performs every duty and task recognizing the value this work will have in the Fire Department and focusing on the service level provided to our residents and visitors.

Congratulations, Firefighter/Paramedic Chrencik on this well-deserved honor! 👏

⚙️ Rotary Recap ⚙️

Your Buffalo Grove Rotarians have been busy over the past few weeks! Take a look at some of the things we've been up to:

➡️ Co-hosted the "Buffalo Groove" Spring Dance with the Village of Buffalo Grove Rick Kahen Commission for Residents with Disabilities.
➡️ Partnered with the Rotary Club of Wheeling, IL and Indian Trails Public Library to host early literacy nights at the Library and local schools.
➡️ Heard an informative presentation from representatives of the Office of Lake County State's Attorney Human Trafficking Task Force.
➡️ Enjoyed a night of fun and fellowship at the Givenkindorg annual Trivia Night.

Applications are now being accepted for our 2026 annual scholarships! One-time grants of up to $2,000 each are available to students preparing for their four-year undergraduate degree. Please share this opportunity with any high school juniors or seniors living in Buffalo Grove! Applications are due by May 31, 2026.
