This is a busy day for First responders. Grass fires, medical emergencies and the like don't stop for holidays. Please be careful and consider donating water, Gatorade, and money to your local volunteer fire departments to restock their depleting supply of essentials. This is what can happen to a tire when responding to a grass fire. These tires are not cheap, one costs $800. Happy 4th of July from The Buffalo Gap Volunteer Fire Department ! Please celebrate safely and responsibly!!

Friends and Neighbors………please take note of the conditions the hot, windy days left for us right here at the 4th of July !! Fireworks are not only illegal in town , but they are illegal in the COUNTY, also. You must be on private property, WITH PERMISSION from the Landowner to use fireworks, even out in the county. Along County Roads , barr ditches, and in roadside parks, are off limits and you will receive a citation.

Remember that you are LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES , injuries to neighbors, or Fire fighters, and even deaths, should a disastrous fire get out of control due to your negligence ..

This is not “ crying wolf”……. Several fires have already been started by fireworks in the surrounding areas in the last 5 days

It is sad that the circumstances are such with this great, patriotic, holiday. I wish the rains would have helped us out a little closer to the 4th. But they did not, and conditions are serious.
