In June 2013, the Heritage Museum had an exhibit about the doctors and dentists who once practiced in Buffalo Center. Dr. J. H. Sowers was practicing here by April 1922 with an office upstairs in the building that burned in the 1932 fire (now the Tribune building). He moved a couple of times but ended up in the basement of the "new" Tribune building. His family lived above Snell's Drug Store (now NGT).

Marlys Kramersmeier dropped by the Heritage Museum this week to donate a two-volume History of Kossuth County, published by B. F. Read in 1913. This is an important reference to our area & we appreciate Marly’s donation.
Donations are always being accepted by the Buffalo Center Historical Society for the Heritage Museum.

This is a rare picture of the west side of Main Street that housed Arkwright's Groceries in the 1920's. Addie S. Arkwright had a department and grocery store where Main Street Market is today (previously Wilson's Grocery Store). There is a larger photo of this side of the street and also a photo of Tom Wilson Jr and Mrs. Arkwright in the 1992 Centennial Book.
