Campaign Constitution

Campaign Constitution Finding a method to reform the Constitution to recapture the spirit of freedom and limited government underlying the foundation of America.

Campaign Constitution leads the way to fix our broken system by changing the Constitution in a way to inspire the election of leaders who care more about our country than themselves. Young people should particularly care because the system has been rigged against them. John Cogswell, manager

“[T]he general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws: its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects, which concern all the members of the republic, but which are not to be attained by the separate provisions of any.”

– James Madison, Federalist 14, 1787

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.”

– James Madison, Federalist 45, 1788

"The struggle may be a moral one or it may be a physical one, or it may both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never has and it never will. Find out just what a people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.”
― Frederick Douglass

“The reason we have written constitutions is so that Government officials will be chosen in a certain way, for a certain period of time, and have specific responsibilities and clear limits on their powers.”

“The US Constitution provided the first formal blueprint for democracy. It codified a system of government that was nothing short of an outlier among nations; enshrining an elaborate structure of checks and balances that limited the power of any particular branch and prioritized the role of citizens in the revolutionary concept of self-government. It is a today the world’s longest-serving written charter of government—a gift from framers who established firm principles but allowed for amendments and evolution as the nation itself evolved. Indeed, each amendment that came after ratification tells the story of a national debate that fundamentally altered our political system. Political innovation is an American legacy.”

-Katherine M. Gehl and Michael E. Porter, The Politics Industry

"The Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, the constitutions of the several states, and the organic laws of the territories all alike propose to protect the people in the exercise of their God-given rights. Not one of them pretends to bestow rights."
