Marion county residents be advised we are still under burn ban issued by Georgia Forestry Commission until May 22nd. This means no burning of any kind. Citations will be written by Georgia Forestry Commission.

Marion county is under a fire ban by order of GFC until May 22nd 11.59p.m. unless extended by the Director. No brn permits will be issued, no yard debris burns allowed.

As the weather gets colder, space/portable heaters can provide extra warmth on a chilly day. According to to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, on average, space/portable heaters are responsible for 1,700 house fires a year.
If you rely on a space/portable heater for supplemental heat, it’s important to make safety a priority.
