Good morning and happy Wednesday! We hope the weekend has served you all well. Speaking of serving, here at GCH we have many opportunities for you to serve the community! 💚

On Tuesdays, we have weekly alternating "We've Got Your Back" opportunities such as food and product sorting! Volunteers will have the chance to help us sort out food for Friday Distributions and pack backpacks for kids who need food assistance throughout the week! On the alternate Tuesday, volunteers will be in our warehouse helping us sort through donated items.

Fridays are our big volunteering events. We have two shifts to choose from: traffic and distribution. Traffic team shifts start bright and early from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM! These volunteers help make sure our flow runs smoothly. Distribution volunteers are here from 8 AM to 12 PM. They will help us with setting up and later giving the food out to participants!

Every Friday, Giving Children Hope fights weekend food insecurity in SoCal by pre-packing grocery bags, sorting produce, assisting at drive-throughs, and welcoming families. The service of our beloved volunteers helps families access nutritious food regularly! 💚

A mom who has 3 children, comes every week to receive food from our distribution. "It has helped me in so many ways. My kids are graduating from school this year, so this help has helped me save to be able to support my kids. I'm very grateful for the commitment of the volunteers, without them it would not run as smoothly as it does. Thank you."

Today we would like to highlight one of our Hope Core volunteers, Copie! 💚

Copie found us through his church organization that came to volunteer with us. He started coming back to volunteer full time after learning about all of our volunteer opportunities throughout the week. He now joins us every Friday for our food distribution and leads one of our stations, connecting with our families and fellow volunteers.

"The people that come and receive our goods, just to see the warmth and the thankfulness in their eyes, is why I come back." Copie does more than volunteer. He connects with everyone he talks to and radiates positive energy in all that he does.
He embodies the motive and passion to successfully execute our mission to support children and families by breaking their cycle of need and guiding them toward success and self-sustainability. We are so grateful for his continued generosity and selflessness that inspires us every week. ✨

Did you know, nearly half of all U.S. families (approximately 49%) struggle to afford the basic cost of living? Roughly 1 in 3 (36.4%) Americans reported significant difficulty paying for regular household expenses, such as food, rent, or medical bills. Here at GCH, we partner with many organizations to help impact families all around. 💚

An impacted mother of a 6-month-old baby girl shared with us how she has struggled to afford basic necessities, such as diapers for her daughter. "I can only change my baby twice a day due to insufficient funds for diapers." The mother is also facing significant challenges due to her immigration status and is currently able to work only two days a week because she does not have childcare. She immigrated to this country from Peru a couple years ago. Despite these hardships, she continues to do everything she can to provide a safe and loving environment for her baby. Thanks to the impact from GCH, this mother has been able to receive support and essential goods to help her and her baby.

Stories like these are why we do what we do. ✨

Saturday is the day! 💚 It's your last chance to secure your spot at our Youth-Led Floral Workshop, led by students from the Buena Park High School Floral Club!

Join us in a workshop where students will lead you in creating beautiful centerpieces to take home or gift to someone special! Coffee and conversation begin at 9:30 AM, with the workshop starting at 9:45 AM. You won't want to miss it!
