Volunteering is always needed for our festivals. With our second race coming up in just a few weeks, now is the time to sign up. We have jobs for every person on your team with job descriptions on our website to help you decide what you want to do. If you are worried about missing your friends/ childs race, don’t be! Volunteering works in shifts so you will not be working all day long. If you have questions about volunteering at our races, be sure to go over to our Volunteering Tent and talk to Brittany, our Volunteering Coordinator.

The GOSO Race Flyer has all information about time, location, dates, maps of the venue, schedules for Saturday and Sunday and more! A Race Flyer is a great way to know the rules and events of the festival weekend. If you have not already, be sure to volunteer for our first GOSO race/festival happening in one week! We have multiple spots available and roles for each person in your family. We even have role descriptions so you know what you are signing up for before you come to the race! Plus, if you have any questions at our festivals, we have a wonderful Volunteer Coordinator, Brittany, who can make sure you fully understand your job before it is your shift. Volunteering is up on our website!

We have a Teen Trail Corps Day coming up at Los Flores Ranch! This will be hosted on August 15th. This is a great opportunity for riders to give back to local trails, learn what it takes to keep / maintain trails in their local area, volunteer and even go to race/festival locations before they happen! By going to our website. You can enter our fundraiser! We are giving away some amazing gear with great value! To enter, go to the pop-up on our website.
Another way to give back to the league is to go to the TREK Santa Barbara store and express how you support GOSO! By doing this, the store will give the league 20% of your purchase price! More information on this will be in our next post, so follow our page to see it!

Maddie is GOSO’s Social Media Coordinator, GRiT Coordinator, and Staging Manager for our second season. She has been riding bikes since she was about five. When she was in high school, she raced in Wisconsin’s NICA League, making her a proud NICA Alumni! She is in charge of all social media posts, overseeing the GRiT Events and activities and also is in charge of the organization of the start line at our races/festivals. The Teen Trail Corps (TTC) is a NICA program that allows student-athletes to give back to their local trails through trail maintenance. This is also an opportunity for our student-athletes to see the trails before races and festivals as well as a chance to get volunteer hours. We have multiple TTC Days coming up through August and September. For more information about the TTC Program, you can visit our website under “What’s Happening, Events Overview” and for more information about specific TTC Days you can go under "What’s Happening, Events Calendar”. Houston is GOSO’s Lead Course Setter. He has been riding bikes for over 70 years with XC cycling being his go to style. As our Lead Course Setter, he is in charge of helping lay out the race courses. Without him setting courses with the NICA/ GOSO guidelines in mind, we would not have fun courses for our riders. He is excited to come back and help out for our second season and GOSO is equally as happy to have him back.
