Bobcat Meals November 2
Please Join us- Living Word is hosting a Bobcat Lunch at Christ Chapel at Texas State. We’ve done this multiple times for several years and it is always fun to meet and interact with the Students. We need to feed 30 students, and will be serving Pasta Dishes. If you would like to sign up but cannot bring food that day, we can arrange for someone else to do so! Every Third and Fifth Tuesday, we help distribute food with the Hays County Food Bank. We look forward to serving our neighbors in this way and taking one step toward eliminating hunger! Book Club, Monday October 19 - Join us Tonight!!
Hope you will be able to join us for Book Club, Monday October 19th 7:00pm for socializing and snacks. Bring a snack to share, drinks will be provided. Patricia will be hosting in Kyle.

Join us on zoom at 7:30 if you can't come in person. Remember even if you haven’t read the book or finished it, the discussions are always relevant and good. Join us in person or Zoom.

The book for October 19th, is: The Medicine Woman of Galveston by Amanda Skenandore, (384 pages, May2024) Once a trailblazer in the field of medicine, Dr. Tucia Hatherley hasn’t touched a scalpel or stethoscope since she made a fatal mistake in the operating theater. Instead, she works in a corset factory, striving to earn enough to support her disabled son. When even that livelihood is threatened, Tucia is left with one option—to join a wily, charismatic showman named Huey and become part of his traveling medicine show.-

15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted to entrap him in what he said. 16 So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are sincere, and teach the way of God in accordance with truth, and show deference to no one, for you do not regard people with partiality. 17 Tell us, then, what you think. we give thanks for the Indigenous peoples who have cared for and honored this land, its waters, and its creatures for generations. Bless Indigenous communities with strength, dignity, healing, and hope. Help us to listen with humility, remember with honesty, and honor the gifts, cultures, languages, and traditions that enrich our communities.

Guide us toward reconciliation, justice, and greater understanding of our shared responsibility to care for one another and for your creation.

May God bless and keep all Indigenous peoples, today and always.
