We’re excited to officially welcome Crystal Dean to the Crawford Partnerships team as our new Workforce Development Manager.

Her first week has been all about getting connected and grounded in the region’s workforce ecosystem. She’s spent time getting oriented in the office, joined the team for a welcome lunch at Mi Cerrito in Bucyrus, and immediately began building relationships with key regional partners, including the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development and MAGNET, our regional Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

She’s also already diving into the tools and data that power our work—spending time exploring our labor market analytics platforms to better understand regional talent trends and opportunities.

We’re looking forward to the expertise, energy, and collaboration she brings to our workforce initiatives across the region. Please join us in giving Crystal a warm welcome!

If you’d like to connect with Crystal, she can be reached at:

In Site Selection Magazine’s recently released rankings for large, private economic development projects in 2025, Bucyrus tied for a rank of 70 out of 543 micropolitan counties in the US, following a tied ranking of 39 in 2024. Site Selection has been annually ranking states and cities since 1978 and top non-metro counties with an urban center between 10,000 and 50,000 (also known as micropolitans) since 2004. This ranking proves that Crawford County is continuing to move in the right direction.

The Crawford Partnership is proud to participate in the Crawford County Land Bank and support ongoing efforts to revitalize underutilized properties across our communities.

We are especially pleased to see additional Brownfield remediation funding awarded for the Hiler Gas Station project in the Village of New Washington. This $1,000,000 investment will support the cleanup of a former gas station site in the heart of the village, including removal of concrete slabs and garage lifts, as well as the excavation and replacement of contaminated soil.

Once remediated, the site will be transformed into a community asset featuring a parking area, along with green space, benches, and landscaping.

Projects like this reflect the power of collaboration through the Land Bank to remove barriers to redevelopment and create opportunities for long-term community improvement across Crawford County.

Throughout April and early May, Crawford Partnership had the opportunity to provide Q1 community and organizational updates to New Washington, Galion, and Bucyrus.

These presentations allowed us to share progress on economic and workforce development initiatives, regional collaboration efforts, business engagement, and ongoing projects impacting Crawford County communities.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with local leaders, stakeholders, and community members as we continue working together to support growth, strengthen partnerships, and move Crawford County forward.

In March, the team attended Regional Growth Partnership Northwest Ohio’s Annual Meeting, and Crawford County got some great recognition throughout the hour. Forge Fire & Company’s project and Imasen Bucyrus Technology's expansion were both highlighted, and The City of Bucyrus being named a Top 100 Micropolitan in Site Selection Magazine was another big win for the county!

We are proud of the 3 Crawford County projects that contributed to our region of Ohio in 2025. Thank you to all of our businesses that invested in and/or created jobs here! The Crawford Partnership loves working alongside these businesses to support growth and strengthen our local economy.

If your business is exploring project opportunities in 2026, we’d love to hear from you — contact the Crawford Partnership to see how we can help.

In 2025, Northwest Ohio delivered:
- 115 projects
- Nearly 5,000 new jobs
- $3.3 billion invested back into our region

The momentum in 2025 created opportunities for our communities, support for local businesses, and strengthened the region we call home.
