Executive Director Makenna Laser delivered insightful updates to The City of Galion's Council and The City of Bucyrus' Council last month, highlighting the progress made in the second quarter of 2026.

From workforce development projects like Teacher Bootcamp and the Workforce Ready Intern program to the State Capital Budget and new business leads to Q2 wins such as Nancy Clutter celebrating her 10th anniversary with the Partnership and a scholarship fund in honor of Dave Williamson, the first director of the Crawford Partnership, the report demonstrates our commitment to driving positive change in Crawford County.

Big news for Ohio employers and the future workforce!

Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and JobsOhio have announced a $300 million Experiential Learning Initiative aimed at strengthening Ohio's talent pipeline through hands-on, work-based learning opportunities.

The first phase of the initiative, the Technician Earn-and-Learn Program, will provide eligible employers with up to $10,000 per participant to support paid work-based learning opportunities in high-demand industries.

Although employer applications are not yet open, now is a great time for businesses to begin exploring internships, apprenticeships, co-ops, and other experiential learning opportunities. These programs help students gain valuable real-world experience while giving employers the opportunity to build their future workforce.

This investment reflects Ohio's continued commitment to connecting education with in-demand careers and supporting the talent needs of employers across the state.

Happy National Intern Day!

Get to know our Workforce Ready Interns, Cohen Knapp and Wyatt Williams!

Cohen is a senior at Colonel Crawford Local Schools attending Pioneer Career and Technology Center and interning at Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works, LTD. As an intern, Cohen spends time welding, blacksmithing, sanding, and cleaning kettles. He especially enjoys learning forge work, hammering and shaping metal, and building his TIG welding skills. Cohen said, “I enjoy the welding side of the job, but also the artistry that goes into each piece.”

Wyatt is interning as a diesel mechanic for Driven Excavating, LLC in Crestline and attending Pioneer. Wyatt is eager to learn about various types of machinery and enjoys working with larger equipment. When asked what his goals for the internship are, Wyatt said, "I hope to expand my knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems across Driven Excavating’s fleet.”

We want to congratulate the organizers, volunteers, and youth participants on another successful Crawford County Fair Ohio last week. Community events like the county fair and local festivals are the heart of Crawford County.

Next up are the Bratwurst Festival in Bucyrus from August 13-15 and the Crestline Harvest Festival, happening September 17-19.

What a fun afternoon at the Crawford County Fair yesterday! School leaders from all five Crawford County school districts traded their classrooms for the show arena during the inaugural Crawford County Farm Bureau Celebrity Show.

It was great to see our schools and agricultural community come together for a little friendly competition. Congratulations to the Wynford Royals on being named the first Celebrity Show champions! 🏆💙
