We are so excited to receive a Capacity Grant from Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio. Besides the new totes, platform carts, 3-in-1 carts and collapsible dolly we got a printer and supplies for the Backpack Program. Now we don’t have to ask people to print things off for us! Yeah! πŸ‘ It’s the little things. Thank you again Second Harvest. You just made our job a little easier. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Did you know you can link your Krogers Reward points to the Bucyrus Backpack Program? Just get on the Kroger site and find the Kroger Rewards section and look for the Backpack Program. We receive a quarterly update of households enrolled and a check from the rewards program. As you can see we have 72 households enrolled. It would be great to reach 100. Can you help? Please! It was a small delivery this week but every little bit helps. Our community helpers from Ag Credit and First Federal Community Bank made quick work of the job. We got some great buys on soups, purchased some veggies, applesauce and mini ravioli individually cups. Thank you also goes out to our regular helpers too. Have a great weekend.

We packed 554 bags this week with the help of 27 volunteers. Our community helpers were Bucyrus Lions Club, CCBDD and the Chargers for Change. This is the next to last bag pack for the year. For breakfast we have 2 cereals and milk. For lunch it’s chicken noodle soup and individual Mac and Cheese cup. For dinner it’s a family meal of pasta, sauce and a veggie. As we come to the close of the year not all bags will have the same snacks as our numbers have increased since we first started and we had to change our order quantities. This bag has yogurt, goldfish crackers and fruit snacks for snacks. Next week will be our last pack of the school year.
