When paddling on rivers, steer clear of commercial vessels. 🚢 They have the right of way in a navigation channel.

Human-powered vessels should avoid commercial traffic. Boats don’t have brakes, and it takes an average of ¾ to 1½ miles for a towboat pushing barges to stop. ⚠️

Give commercial vessels plenty of room and stay safe on the water! 🌊

Buckhorn Campground Trunk-or-Treat October 24 @ 6pm

September 16th at 9am, we will do the call-in for reservations Trunk-or-Treat at both Buckhorn and Trace Branch Campgrounds. If you would like a campsite for weekend, please call 606-398-4140 that day. This is a dedicated fax line we will use for that day only! This prevents the calls from rolling over, making the process more fair to all that are calling.

We encourage local businesses and organizations to participate! We can provide you a place in the inner loop of the camground.

NOTE: If you reserve a site, you will be required to decorate and hand out treats the night of the event (ON THAT CAMPSITE). We understand things happn, so if you need to cancel please let us know ASAP. Any person that is a no-show will not be permitted to reserve for the event next year. We had several vacant campsites last year that could have been occupied if people would have notified us in advance.

We appreciate everyone that continues to make these events a sucess! It's great for our communities and children! We look forward to talking with you soon!!

⚠️ Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless gas produced when a carbon-based fuel, such as gasoline, propane, or charcoal, burns.

It only takes a few breaths to kill you. If you smell exhaust, CO is present.

🚤 When boating, be aware of CO and know the signs of CO poisoning. Staying informed could save a life. ❤️
