UPSHUR 4-H GLOW STEM NIGHT

Please join us for the first Upshur County 4-H Glow STEM Night! We are partnering with the WV Wesleyan Collegiate 4-H Club to offer this event to ALL youth who are at least Kindergarten age and older, even if they are not currently enrolled in 4-H. We will have glow STEM challenges, black light art, glow games, and more! If you plan to have your child attend, please RSVP at the link below to help us ensure we have enough supplies.

Cost: FREE!
Where: Warren District Community Building in Hodgesville
When: Tuesday, November 10 6:00-8:00pm

Teen Leaders is a great way for youth in middle school to work on team building, leadership and service along side youth the same age as them.

During National 4-H Week, we are excited to announce the dates for next summer's Upshur County Older and Younger 4-H Camps and Cloverbud Day Camp! We have already started making plans to make next summer great, and we hope you will plan to join us at Upshur County Youth Camp in Selbyville!

Older Camp (Ages 13-21): June 6-11
Younger Camp (Ages 9-12): June 13-17
Cloverbud Day Camp (Ages 6-8): Week of June 28-July 2

4-H is open to all youth between the ages of 5 to 21. Youth aged 8 (as of 6/30/26) to 21 (as of 9/30/27) can join as a 4-H member!
Youth aged 5 to 7 (as of 6/30/26), who are interested in the practices of 4-H can start in the Cloverbud program, which focuses more on fun and social activities that set the stage for future learning! 🧠

This weekend, several of our Upshur County 4-H adult volunteers were recognized at the 4-H Adult Homecoming Weekend at Jackson’s Mill. We had four become new All Stars, which is the highest honor in WV 4-H: Lora Bryant, Tim Bryant, Be Burnside, and Mimi Riffle.

Additionally, Adam Burnside and Amy Queen were recognized as Outstanding Volunteers of the Year for their dedication to 4-H clubs, camps, the leaders association, fundraisers, and nearly every county 4-H activity.

Congratulations to all, and we are lucky to have such great volunteers in our county 4-H program!

TEEN LEADERS: A reminder that we will have our September Upshur 4-H High School Teen Leader Meeting tomorrow, Monday 9/28 at 6:30pm at the Upshur County WVU Extension Office.

Also, there is still some time to register for our multi-county teen leader weekend that will be next weekend, Oct. 2-4, at the Upshur County Youth Camp in Selbyville. It is open to all youth from any county in grades 6-12.

Registration is still open for our teen leader weekend Oct. 2-4 in Selbyville. It is open to youth in grades 6-12 from any county. We would love to have you come and join us!

We are excited to host the 2nd Annual Lewis-Upshur Regional Teen Leader Weekend October 2-4 at Upshur County Youth Camp in Selbyville! It is open to all youth currently in grades 6-12. While the two counties mentioned in the name are collaborating to plan the event, we invite campers to join us from any county as long as they are in the age range. No prior 4-H experience is required. The cost is just $25 for the entire weekend, which includes food, lodging, and programming.

Our first teen leader weekend last fall was a big success with 36 campers from three different counties. We would love to see even more campers from more counties this year!
