MUD, WIND, AND MOUNTAIN BIKING!

​What a way to wrap up the season at Shred the Summit this past weekend! The weather gave us a true test with heavy rain and harsh winds, but our Ridge Rattlers took on the slippery course without hesitation.

​Every rider showed incredible skill and heart out on the trail, proving once again what this team is made of. A huge shoutout to Parker Wood for an amazing ride and taking 2nd place in his category! 🥈🔥

We had a fantastic weekend at Defend the Bend! The trail conditions couldn't have been better—mostly tacky flow with just enough muddy spots to keep things interesting. It was a fast, flowy course that tested everyone's legs with some solid hill climbs, and our riders gave it everything they had out there.

​Huge congratulations to all of our athletes who tackled the course:

🥇 1st Place Finish: Massive shoutout to Parker Wood for taking 1st place in his category! Outstanding ride!

🏆 Personal Best: Another big round of applause to Talon Lantz, who completely crushed his personal goal today!

​Thank you to the coaches, parents, and volunteers who cheered, prepped bikes, and kept the energy high all weekend. We are so proud of this team!

The Upshur County Ridge Rattlers took on the Battle at Big Bear this weekend, and mother nature definitely brought the elements! Rain, slick lines, and thick fog couldn't dampen the energy—the team embraced every bit of the mud and had an absolute blast out on the course.

​Huge shoutout to our incredible grit and determination in those tough trail conditions, and to the parents and coaches who showed up big in the pit zone to brave the weather.

Our Upshur County Ridge Rattlers took on the heat and brought the fire to Grand Vue Park. The weather was sizzling, but the atmosphere was incredible thanks to all the amazing cheers, grit, and sportsmanship from our riders, parents, and coaches.

​Huge shoutout to every single Ridge Rattler who pushed through the dust, conquered the climbs, and left it all out on the dirt. You made us proud today!

Rain or shine, this team knows how to bring the good vibes! 🤘🌧️

​Definitely not the outcome we were expecting after all the hard work, and weather forced us to cancel yesterday’s race. But pre-rides were a blast and team spirit was at an all-time high! Proud of everyone for rolling with the changes and making the best of the weekend.

​We’re putting this one behind us and looking ahead—stay tuned for our next race at Grand Vue!

Our riders have been putting in the work this season, dialing in their skills, conquering climbs, and building serious speed during practices. All that sweat and determination is about to pay off!

​Mark your calendars for next Sunday, August 16th—the Ridge Rattlers are heading to Rally in the Valley for our very first race of the season!

​Our athletes are ready to hit the trail and represent. Come out, make some noise, and help us cheer on these incredible athletes as they take on the course!

What an awesome start to the 2026 season! We had a great first week of practice and we are excited to see some new faces.

If you’re interested in joining the team we are always looking for new riders! There is a trial waiver form available for you to give it a try. Just contact a coach or this page for more information.

The Upshur County Ridge Rattlers Mountain Bike Team is gearing up for the season, and practice starts July 7, 2026. We are always looking for new riders! Prospective Riders and families: don’t forget to complete the Temporary Participation Waiver / Liability Release before coming out to try out a practice with us!

Also: Donations directly support rider development, team training, equipment needs, and opportunities for local youth to build confidence, friendships, discipline, and a love for the outdoors.
