Shadow and Mouser are ready to find their new home! If you are looking for two sweet cats who are already besties, we got you covered. These two love bugs are fostered in Lewiston with our wonderful fosters Matt and Jen. We believe Mouser was Shadows kitten, from the way they interacted when they were re-introduced. They will bring so much love (and warmth) into your life. They love to be loved on. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, combo tested, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped!

Shadow update!

After a long few days of intensive care, Shadow is finally on the mend in foster care. It is believed that an extremely heavy load of internal parasites caused her illness. Having an overwhelming number of worms 🪱 can cause cats to crash due to a lack of nutrients. Thankfully for this girl, it was caught quickly and she will make a full recovery.

Meanwhile, another cat from the colony also exhibited similar symptoms and we were able to get him cared for as well. His name is Mouser and at around 4 months old we believe he may actually be Shadows son (she is less than a year old herself) 😱. After a ridiculously cute reunion, they are now in foster care together ❤️. Stay tuned for an adoption post once they are feeling 100%.

We couldn't do this work without all of you. We wanted to give a shoutout to the people who sent donations via venmo and PayPal as well as putting money directly onto our account at the vet. (We also appreciate the Facebook donations but cant view who made right now)

Teeny is cat friendly, good with respectful kids, and good with calm respectful dogs. Also….have we mentioned her big mittens?! Imagine being able to watch these air biscuits all day.

Please reach out if you think Teeny might be the one for you. She needs her food portioned out to stay healthy, but that’s a small task for a lifetime of love from this sweet girl!

Do you have a thing for blue eyed boys with behavioral problems? Well, we do too, so we wanted to give Blueberry another chance at life with someone that can better meet his needs.

Blueberry 🫐 might be one of the most stunning cats we have ever met. He definitely can get overstimulated, but if someone recognizes he needs space in advance, things should go smoothly. He is very sweet and enjoys attention (in moderation). He would love a house that can provide lots of cat towers, catnip kicker toys, and a window seat.

His ideal home:
No kids
No other pets
Cat savvy (can read behavior and body language, knows when to give space, not afraid to get bitten on occasion while they figure out how to coexist in one house together).
Someone with patience who will not take his
quirks personally. There is probably a 100% percent chance he will bite his future adopter. He has bitten us as well but they are mostly warning bites. We survived. It didn’t break the skin, we are cat savvy and gave him time to himself to decompress, and move on with our night. If you are reading this and still thinking he sounds like the one for you, we would love to hear from you 😂

Blueberry has gone after other animals (intensely) which is not fair to other animals in the home. So far his tell is that he does a couple sneeze sounds when he starts to get overstimulated. Or will lift his tail up. He is also a cat that will need to be given gaba in advance to travel in a car due to how stressed he gets about it (it’s pretty dramatic).

Big shoutout to Kaili with Community Cat Advocates today 🙌🐾

This little one was caught BY HAND. No trap, no fancy tricks, just patience, gentle hands, and a whole lot of know-how. If you've ever tried to scoop up a nervous little kitten, you know that's no small feat 😅

Look at that face 🥺 Those white mittens didn't stand a chance.

Kaili and the whole Community Cat Advocates crew show up and get it done, quietly, without asking for credit. So I'm giving it anyway. The TNR work across these towns doesn't happen without people like them putting in the time and the heart ❤️

ACO Holmes

Some of you may have seen the big things happening over in West Paris, with a giant TNR effort being made by ACO Holmes to finally help the ferals living (and breeding) in town. This girl was trapped and went to get spayed yesterday. Unfortunately, when she returned back it was quickly noticed that she was struggling to wake back up and her gums were pale. (Through no fault of the clinic, this girl likely had an underlying health condition from being outside) Thanks to quick action by volunteers, she was brought to the emergency vet and her care was taken over by us here at CCA because of the anticipated cost. We are so thankful to be able to help with this amazing project in a small way.

After a very long night at the emergency room, this girl is now at our regular vet Taylor Brook Animal Hospital for the day because she is still very unstable. We aren't sure how much the final bill will be but we do know this girl deserves a chance and our tiny budget is going to be stretched with this unexpected intake.

If anyone would like to help us cover her bills we would be extremely grateful.

A huge thank you is owed to all involved, especially Rescue Charlie's Friends for helping to fix all of the colony cats in West Paris. If anyone would like to get more involved with the project, please reach out to ACO Holmes who is coordinating trapping.

Teeny has been in care for over a year and although she is loved on daily at Marshwood Center, she deserves a home of her very own!

Scruff is still in search of his forever home! He’s approximately 10 years old and was taken in from a colony in Livermore Falls. After giving him some time to decompress we realized he LOVES being an indoor cat. His only needs are a warm lap, lots of love and canned food because he had a full mouth extraction. A good relationship with your vet is also a must. If you feel that he would be a good fit to your home please reach out. He’s been waiting a while and is starting to get lonely. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and has had a full dental.
