๐Ÿ€A Message from Buckfield Recreationโšพ

Our Buckfield Recreation Committee volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that the youth of Buckfield, Hartford, and Sumner have access to Baseball, Softball, Soccer, and Basketball every year. Weโ€™re proud to provide these opportunities, but we also want to be transparent about some challenges we faceโ€”especially when it comes to basketball season.

Unlike many towns, we do not own our own gym. All practices and games rely on the availability of Hartford-Sumner Elementary School and what RSU 10 can provide. This same gym is also used for middle school practices and games, meaning that court time is extremely limited.

Over the past couple of years, weโ€™ve heard frustration from parents and coaches about the lack of available gym time. We completely understand, but we want to be clear that this is simply out of our control.

We remain committed to offering basketball each year and giving our youth a place to play and grow. All we ask is for your understanding, patience, and support as we work through the obstacles we face.

๐Ÿ€ Basketball Registrations Are Now Open! ๐Ÿ€

Itโ€™s that time of year again! Buckfield Recreation basketball is open to all players from Grade 1 through Grade 6.

If your child loves the game or is just getting started, sign them up for a fun and active season of learning, teamwork, and community spirit!
