The ATHLETES OF THE DAY honors go to two whose exceptional achievements lifted Team USA to historic victories.

Emily Spreeman of the U.S. Womenโ€™s National Team delivered a performance worthy of Deaflympic history. She scored two goals in the gold medal match, leading the team to its fifth consecutive Deaflympics Gold medal. Her second goal marked a remarkable milestone, her 50th career international goal, further securing their undefeated legacy on the world stage and reminding everyone why this team continues to shine as a global powerhouse. โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ†

On the court, Michael Lizarraga, in his first-ever Deaflympics appearance, showed the world why basketball remains an American stronghold. His physical dominance, commanding presence, and powerful leadership fueled Team USAโ€™s gold medal victory. Lizarraga finished the championship game with 31 points, using pure strength, focus, and intensity to overpower Ukraine and secure the title for the United States. ๐Ÿ€ ๐Ÿ†

Congratulations, Emily and Michael! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
