Thanks to everyone who helped make our recent 4th Grade Career Day at Moccasin Elementary School such a great experience!

We’re so grateful to our presenters, Jennifer Popielski with Michigan Gateway Community Foundation, Christy Layman with Honor Credit Union, Charles Nelson with On Base Productions, Jason Stroud, Caren Furdeck, and Bryan Tumbleson with Jason Stroud Team, Nancy Miller with Hanson International, Phillip Huang, Buchanan Community Schools Resource Officer from the Buchanan Police Department, and Evan Cauffman, Christian Fellows, and Keith Lehman from the Buchanan Fire Department.

And to an amazing group of parents who took the time to invest in our students, Tyler Sullivan/Quality Technician, Zachariah Potchen/Correctional Sergeant, Brittany McClelland/Radiologic Technologist, Jacob Breland/Memorial Hospital Facility Manager, and Ryan McNeely/Military and Veterans Services.

And a special thank you to Moccasin Elementary School teachers and staff for partnering with Michigan Gateway Community Foundation and Kickstart to Career to bring this event to life!

Events like this matter. When students can see real-world possibilities and connect with professionals in their own community, it helps them start imagining their own path forward.

We had an amazing turnout for this month’s Deposit Day!

With Spring finally here, it’s the perfect time to celebrate growth—and these little Bucks are doing just that! Students at Ottawa, Moccasin, and the Middle School are making awesome strides, and their savings funds are really starting to grow.

Keep it up, Bucks! The next Deposit Day is coming up on April 16—so mark your calendars! Any amount helps you prepare for the future!

Last week our Kickstart to Career Program Officer, Brenda Hemphill, spent time with 6th graders at Buchanan Middle School helping them get hands-on with their future goals!

Brenda walked students through how to log in to their Kickstart to Career funds, check their current balances, and even set up permissions so family and friends can contribute to their savings.

It’s never too early to start planning for future education and career opportunities — and our Buchanan students are already taking the first step!

Another month, another Buchanan Kickstart to Career Deposit Day! It’s so exciting to see a lot of the same faces each month who are making a choice to save for their future! Lifetime saving habits starting now! We moved our Middle School deposit time to the lunch hour to connect with more students. Such a fun group! Our next deposit day is March 19th.
