Child Care Health Consultants (CCHC) - Nurses employed by Public Health Departments assist childcare providers in identifying the specific health and safety issues of their community such as nutrition, obesity, asthma, chronic illness and then design training strategies and professional development for improving related outcomes for children

Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) -The North Carolina Early Intervention Branch (NCEI) is a part of the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP). The Infant-Toddler Program provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three who have special needs. Research shows that this time period is critical. It offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. Hawthorn Heights—Barium Springs - At Barium Springs, we have eight group homes. Five homes are located in Barium Springs, NC. Two homes are located in North Wilkesboro, NC. One group home in Bryson City, NC. Each home provides care for 4-9 children in a family-style setting. We have a capacity of 60 children living in our group homes. Staff, called Family-Teachers, are well-trained and committed to demonstrating healthy family behaviors and teaching important social skills. Region A Partnership for Children (RAPC) - The non-profit organization that administers North Carolina’s Smart Start and NC Pre-K initiatives in the seven western-most counties and on the Qualla Boundary.
