Election time is coming and two people have emerged as candidates for Ward 2 of Bryant’s City Council.

Walter Burgess- Current Planning Commissioner

Richard McKeown- Parks Committee member

Council member Star Henson is the incumbent and has not announced whether she plans to run for reelection or not.

The Mills Park pickleball courts ring a bell? Council never approved the additional $335k that you signed off on

Liberal spending means creating almost 40 new employment positions during your time in office.

Liberal spending means wanting to pass A&P taxes and mileage taxes bc you have no clue how to budget.

Chris Treat was Allen Scott’s right hand man and Bryant will have more of the above if he is elected!

The city council will be having a special meeting on February 13 at 6:00 to move forward with their commitment to the Saline County Water Authority.

Word has gotten back to me that my opponent has been making wild accusations and is slandering my good name in an attempt to further his campaign for Mayor. Once again, he is wasting people’s time and resources. I am focused on transparency and truth and we need to put Bryant first and not focus on fabricated stories.

This letter is from the Bryant Chamber of Commerce that clearly shows that I left on my own accord and that no wrong doings took place. ”

Wait a minute…..so now he is blaming the council? He and the previous mayor literally signed off on the added expenditures and then went to the council for the budget adjustment so the bills could get paid!

There is no setting the record straight, it’s all on video. The council had no choice but to approve it because the work has already been done.

This upcoming mayor race for our city is pretty clear.

1) a guy that doesn’t know how to manage projects or budgets.

Or

2) someone that has run many of his own businesses successfully and knows how to work within a budget.

A native son and current Parks Director, Chris Treat is running for mayor of Bryant, Akansas.

The “media” in Saline County wont talk about this…Apparently the parks department went almost $400k over budget on the Mills Park pickle-ball courts 🙄. The original request was for $300k.

The funny thing, there are no records of any department head going to the council to request more money!!!

The levels of poor leadership the past 5 years is incomprehensible!
