🦌 Help us celebrate 40 years of Hunter Safety Education in Maine by joining one of our Hunter Safety camps this summer!
This year marks the 40th anniversary of required Hunter Safety Education in Maine, and we're proud to celebrate alongside the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Hunter Education has proven to make Maine’s woods and waters safer than ever.

To recognize this important milestone, every participant in our Hunter Safety programs at Bryant Pond and Greenland Point will receive a commemorative Maine Fisheries & Wildlife Safe Hunter patch.

Our camps provide youth with hands-on experiences in safe firearm handling, outdoor survival skills, wildlife conservation, and responsible outdoor recreation—all while building confidence and a lifelong appreciation for Maine's outdoor heritage.

🌲 We have just a handful of openings remaining this summer, with fewer than a dozen spots left across both locations.
💰 Maine residents may also be eligible for a one-time $400 scholarship to help offset the cost of the program.

Whether your child is preparing for a lifetime of safe hunting or simply enjoys learning new outdoor skills, there's never been a better time to join us and celebrate this important milestone.

As the Telstar Freshman Academy wraps up another year at the University of Maine 4-H Camp & Learning Center at Bryant Pond, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible contributions these students have made to our camp community.

The Telstar Freshman Academy, Telstar High School's freshman class, spends part of each school day learning here at Bryant Pond. Through their Pay It Forward program, students partner with local organizations to identify a need, develop a plan, and complete projects that make a lasting impact in their communities.

This year, students took on not one, but two projects here at camp. One group rebuilt a bridge that will be used by campers, students, staff, and visitors for years to come, while another improved our "Mountaintop" low ropes element, helping to maintain an important part of our outdoor education and team-building programs.

We're also incredibly grateful to Western Maine Supply for generously donating the lumber that helped make these projects possible.

At Bryant Pond, we believe some of the best learning happens when young people have the opportunity to serve their communities and leave a place better than they found it. These students have done exactly that. Their hard work, creativity, and commitment to giving back have left a lasting mark on Bryant Pond, and we couldn't be more proud of what they have accomplished.

Thank you to the Telstar Freshman Academy students, their teachers, and our community partners for another successful year of learning, leadership, and service!

Yesterday’s news of the tragic loss of Warden Joshua Tibbetts deeply saddened all of us at the University of Maine 4-H Camp & Learning Center at Bryant Pond.

For many years, we have had the privilege of working alongside members of the Maine Warden Service and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife who dedicate their lives to protecting Maine’s natural resources and the people who enjoy them. Many within that community have also become valued friends to our camp family.

Our hearts are with Warden Tibbetts’ family, friends, fellow Maine Game Wardens, and the entire Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you, Warden Tibbetts, for your service to the people and the State of Maine. You will be remembered.

The lake is waking up, the loons are calling, and camp is getting ready. 🌿☀️🛶

There’s something special about early mornings at Bryant Pond—the still water, the mountain backdrop, the quiet anticipation before camp comes alive again.

In just a short time, this waterfront will be filled with laughter, paddles hitting the water, new friendships, campfires, and unforgettable adventures.

We’re getting ready to welcome back our camp family, staff and campers alike and we can’t wait.

If your happy place is outside… on the water, on the trail, around a campfire, or helping young people grow through adventure, there’s still time to join us.
