Brazos Spinners and Weavers Guild

10/10/2026

Imagine being 18 and getting handed a ticket to learn from master artisans.
This year, our Education Fund will send local high school and university students to the Contemporary Handweavers of Texas conference in May 2027. They'll take workshops from some of the best weavers and fiber artists in the state, and they'll come home with new skills, new confidence, and a community of makers behind them.
Our goal for Brazos Valley Gives is $3,000, and scholarships are a big part of it. Early giving is open now, and the main giving day is Tuesday, Oct 20, from 5 am to 11 pm.

Mark your calendars: Brazos Valley Gives is October 20, and the Brazos Spinners and Weavers Guild is raising money to share the joy of fiber arts with the next generation of makers. Early giving is open now!

Every dollar goes to our Education Fund, which supports three things this year:

Scholarships for local high school and university students to attend the Contemporary Handweavers of Texas conference in May 2027 and learn from master artisans

A workshop for Brazos Valley art teachers, with take-home kits and resources so they can bring fiber arts into their classrooms

Our Saturday Play Days, free-to-join 2-hour "make and take" workshops for the craft curious of all ages

Whether you're a lifelong weaver or just love handmade things, we'd be grateful for your support.

Our goal: $3,000!
