Many families wait until the very end to ask about hospice care, assuming it’s only meant for the final few days of life. In reality, hospice support is designed to assist for months, providing maximum comfort and guidance.

Eligibility for hospice care typically includes:

- A diagnosis of an advanced or terminal illness with a prognosis of six months or less (if the disease follows its natural course)

- A shift in goals from curative treatments to physical comfort and peace of mind

- A desire to receive care in the comfort of home or a local residential facility

Accessing hospice care early means more time with a dedicated care team supporting your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Licensed by Medicare in 1989, Hospice Brazos Valley has cared for our patients and families with compassion, dignity, and respect. As the Brazos Valley’s only nonprofit hospice and its longest-serving hospice provider, our roots run deep—and so does our commitment to the people who call this community home.

Thank you to Brazos Valley Kappa for thoughtfully putting together care kits for our Hospice Brazos Valley staff. From our nurses, CNAs, social workers and chaplains to our leadership, IT team, administrative staff and everyone in between, your kindness was felt throughout our organization!
