Project Unity Project Unity’s mission is to empower children, families, and individuals to reach their highest potential in communities where they live!

Project Unity aims to empower and strengthen our community by caring for its people, supporting and educating its families, and fostering hope and change in the lives of all involved. We provide programs that reach nearly every person, from every background. Our heart is to bring not just help but to literally bring transformation to our community!

Some of our incredible FAYS and HOPES team members, along with our CEO, Jeannie Mansill, and COO, Ella McGruder, are in Waco this week attending the Partners in Prevention (PIP) Conference!

At Project Unity, we believe that investing in our team means investing in the families and communities we serve. Opportunities like PIP allow us to connect with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, strengthen our skills, and discover new ways to empower families across Central Texas.

💙 WHY DOES $15,000 MATTER?

When we say our Brazos Valley Gives goal is $15,000, we’re not just talking about a number on a fundraising thermometer.

We’re talking about what that money allows our team to actually do.
It means a parent can sit across from a staff member and learn new tools for creating a stronger home.

It means a young person can have someone walk with them through a difficult season instead of facing it alone.

It means families can be connected to housing, food, healthcare, behavioral health support, transportation, and other resources when life feels overwhelming.

It means parents of young children can receive education, encouragement, and support that helps build strong foundations from the very beginning.

It means community health workers can meet people where they are, help them navigate complicated systems, and connect them with the care they need.

It means veterans, children, parents, and neighbors throughout our communities can encounter a real person who says:
“You don’t have to figure this out by yourself.”

That’s what $15,000 means.

Not simply keeping the lights on.
It keeps people in the community.
It keeps services accessible.
It keeps relationships growing.
And it keeps hope moving forward.

In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Project Unity offices will be closed Monday, October 12, 2026.

We honor and recognize the history, culture, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples and communities.

Our offices will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, October 13.

💛 Parenting Classes This Morning! 💛

What a fun and meaningful morning at Parenting Class! We loved watching moms and dads connect, share their own parenting experiences, and learn from one another. 🥰

Some of our moms even jumped right in and asked to read parts of the lesson, making the class even more interactive and engaging! 📖✨

These classes are about more than just learning parenting skills—they’re about building connections, encouragement, confidence, and a community where parents know they’re not alone. 💕

Celebrating National Night Out with our District Attorney, Jarvis Parsons! 🇺🇸💙

It’s always a great night when our community comes together! National Night Out is about building relationships, strengthening connections, and celebrating the people who work every day to make the Brazos Valley a stronger, safer, and more connected place to call home.

Sometimes a new beginning comes with a set of keys. 🔑

Earlier this year, a single mom of seven began working with Project Unity through our FAYS program, participating in parenting classes while working toward greater stability for her family. She later enrolled in HOPES, continuing to strengthen her parenting skills, her well-being, and her family’s future.

And she was working HARD.

While participating in both programs and working with the Financial Fitness Center, she held down two jobs and saved toward her goal of having a home of her own.

Then came a major setback: her teenage son was involved in an accident that totaled the family’s only vehicle.

For a mom raising seven children and working two jobs, losing transportation could have stopped everything. But she kept going—working, caring for her children, participating in services, and moving toward her goals while borrowing vehicles and relying on rides.

Project Unity staff saw her determination and nominated her for assistance through OnRamp.

Last week, all that perseverance led to an unforgettable moment: she received a Toyota Highlander from —completely free and clear!

The vehicle is an incredible gift, but the bigger story is the determination behind it. She kept showing up. She kept working. She kept believing greater stability was possible for her family, even when another obstacle stood in her way.

We are so grateful to OnRamp for removing one of those obstacles and giving this family more than reliable transportation—more freedom, stability, and opportunity for the road ahead.

This is what can happen when determined families, supportive programs, and caring community partners work together.

What a GREAT night at Bingo Night!

Last night was filled with laughter, fun, and so many wonderful connections! We were excited to welcome several new faces who jumped right in and had an absolute blast with our usual Bingo Night crowd. ❤️

One of the best parts of the evening was watching new friendships and connections form right before our eyes. Parents were cheering each other on, visiting, laughing, and even helping one another with their little ones so everyone could relax and enjoy the night. 🥰

That is what our community is all about supporting one another, building friendships, and creating a space where parents and families feel welcomed and connected.
