"I made a sketch in 2018 while Valerie [David’s late wife] and I were waiting for a concert to start. Most of my knowledge of the church and the Academy comes from hearing them on the radio or records, but it is a superb setting and the music is always magical.” - Director Emeritus David Woodcock

Why is a world-famous orchestra named after a church in London? 🏛️

David Woodcock, Director Emeritus of the Texas A&M Center for Heritage Conservation and Professor Emeritus of Architecture, tells the story of St Martin-in-the-Fields, the historic church on Trafalgar Square, and the orchestra that took its name from it: the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.

Now the Academy's String Ensemble is coming to Aggieland.
