Session description: Learning when and how to step back and teach independent livingskills. It starts with the littles all the way into adulthood. Let’s get started now!

I've updated the FACETS website to include the dates of upcoming sensory-friendly movies at Cinemark Movies 18 and XD and the the calendar is packed with summer events! I've compiled the events from City of Bryan, City of College Station, BCS Libraries and the Bush Library all in one calendar.

Please join us for our next session of Purposeful Life on May 2nd. Our speaker is Brynn Biggs, Program Manager at SHSU Garrett Center on Transition and Disability Studies. This session has you covered from mastering the art of scheduling to fostering independence in your little ones.

We will provide dinner, childcare for children ages 2 and up, and youth training for children with a disability aged 11 and up. Spanish translation is available upon request. You can also use the link below to register and watch it via Facebook Live.

Summer is just around the corner and I have updated the summer camp list. Please visit our website to download it. This list has been compiled as a resource and is not an endorsement of any particular camp.

Update on sensory-friendly movies

There will no longer be any FACETS sensory-friendly movie days because our local Cinemark will be joining their national program called PJ's and Popcorn. I've been told that there will be monthly events (the first showing of the day on the first Saturday of the month.)
Since it's part of their program, you will be able to purchase tickets ahead of time. Their website will be updated soon with upcoming movie dates. I will still share the dates during Purposeful Life training and update the FACETS website.

Just a reminder that there will a sensory friendly viewing of Elemental tomorrow! They are held at the Cinemark in College Station at 10am. We skip the previews so it starts right at 10am. You can only purchase the tickets that morning.
