Great story covering our very own John E Velasquez, a Vietnam veteran who served the Brazos Valley community with honor.
Today, we honor an extraordinary leader, patriot, and friend whose dedication to veterans and our community leaves a lasting legacy.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, John devoted decades of service to VFW Post 4692, serving in nearly every leadership role and an incredible 22 terms as Commander. His commitment extended far beyond the Post, serving veterans across Texas through leadership roles at the district and state levels, as well as through organizations that supported veterans and the local community.
John’s passion for honoring those who served could be seen throughout the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial and in the Vietnam War Hot LZ Memorial at Veterans Park, where his likeness stands as a tribute to those who answered the call of duty.
Above all, John was a devoted family man, loyal friend, and proud veteran who never stopped serving others. His impact on VFW Post 4692 and the Brazos Valley community will never be forgotten.
