This week we are highlighting our annual Educator Boot Camp!!

To start us off on Monday they earned their Community Safety & Service badge!
Educators started the 2026 WEDCO Educator Bootcamp at the WEDCO office in Bryan before diving straight into the heart of public service.
From the Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and Fire Department (Bryan), participants explored how first responders protect, respond, and serve Williams County every day.
Hands-on conversations highlighted real-world skills, training pathways, and the teamwork it takes to keep a community safe.
💡 Education takeaway: Careers in public safety are built on leadership, communication, and fast decision-making—skills students can start building now.

This Father’s Day is especially meaningful to me.

As many of you know, my life changed dramatically on October 7, 2025, when I was diagnosed with cancer. In the coming days, I’ll share the full story and the emotions that came with that journey. But for now, I’ll give you the honest truth: for about two weeks after my diagnosis, I truly thought I was going to die.

As a husband and a father of three, that feeling is impossible to fully describe. The thought of not being there for my wife and kids brought a level of fear and vulnerability I had never experienced before.

Looking back, that season of suffering changed me. Through the struggles, the uncertainty, and even my own failures, I learned more about myself than I ever thought possible. It made me a better father, a better husband, and a better man.

Today, I am incredibly proud to be a father. I don’t take a single moment with my children for granted. This experience taught me how precious life truly is and reminded me that growth happens one day at a time. Every day is an opportunity to learn, improve, and lead your family with purpose.

There is no doubt in my mind that I could not have made it through this journey without God. His strength carried me when I had none left to give. So today, I celebrate two incredible blessings: Father’s Day and the goodness of the Lord.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. Be present. Be grateful. Love your family well. Tomorrow is never promised, but today is a gift.
