MEET THE TEAM!

The newest stitch in our row is Counselor Makenzie, here to get you hooked on summer fun!

Hi, everyone! My name is Makenzie and I am so excited to be part of camp this summer!

I am from De Pere and I just finished my first year at UW-La Crosse studying Clinical Laboratory Science. This will be my first year as a counselor, but I actually attended Camp Wabansi when I was younger! So, it's really special for me to come back and help create those same fun memories with the campers.

Outside of camp, I enjoy baking, reading, and playing card/board games - anything that brings people together and keeps things fun!

A little fun fact about me is that I love to crochet; I can make blankets, stuffed animals, and even clothing. My secret talent is that I make some of the best chocolate chip cookies!

I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the kids and helping them have a safe, fun, and memorable summer!

Assistant Camp Director Malerie (the artist formerly known as Counselor Malerie) is back to spread more camp spirit!

Hi, everyone! My name is Malerie.

This is my 4th summer on staff and my 1st as Assistant Camp Director!

I just graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a degree in Child Life and Family Studies and Youth Programming. I hope to continue my career in camp! Some of my favorite camp activities include: singing camp songs, looking for beach glass, and experiencing the Thursday overnights!

I cannot wait to meet all the new and returning campers!

For his first trick, Counselor Ben is reappearing at camp this summer!

Hi I’m Ben! I’m going into my second year of college at Marquette in the nursing program.

This is my second year at camp and I’m super excited to come back! I can’t wait to build forts in the woods with the campers and do the Thursday sleepovers!

A fun fact about me is that I am an amateur magician so campers will probably see a card trick or two.

Always prepared and ready to bring some camp rock is Counselor Gary!

Hello! I’m Gary, and this is my first summer as a camp counselor at Camp Wabansi.

I’m an Eagle Scout, a former attendee of Camp Wabansi, and I am attending UW-La Crosse for Music Education.

I play all sorts of instruments like the violin, guitar, and saxophone; I’m excited to share memories (and a little music) with camp!

Ahoy, mateys! My name is Kenna and this is my third year at Camp Wabansi.

I love reading in my hammock, creating art, and finding cool bugs!

If you ever see me at camp without Chacos, it's not me.

In my free time, you'll find me: serenading my cats, exploring the outdoors (via keels, wheels, and heels), or coming up with new fun ways for the community to experience camp!

Something I want everyone to remember about me is that I have the coolest job and the worst jokes.

MEET THE TEAM!

Counselor Frankie has worked with youth on this continent from its head to its toes!

Hello, my name is Frankie and I am in my second year working in the YMCA After-School Program (Altmayer Elementary) and I am very much looking forward to working my first summer at Camp Wabansi as a counselor. I grew up attending the Y's after-school programs and Kids Camp and I know the positive impact it had on me and my future in working with children.

I was born in Guatemala City and adopted at a young age. After recently going back to Guatemala, I realized my calling to work with kids.

I enjoy all sports, my favorite food is a cheeseburger, my favorite candy is sour gummy worms, and I enjoy sitting by a fire with my friends and family especially in summer.

Lastly, I am really looking forward to making this a fun and enjoyable summer with lots of laughs and awesome memories!

Counselor JJ is new to the team, but no novice to youth programming and safety...

Hi friends! I’m JJ. I'm from the Green Bay area and this is my first year at camp! I’m super excited to be part of the Wabansi community.

During the school year, you can find me working as a youth outreach specialist and lifeguard at the Greater Green Bay YMCA. When I’m not working, I love arts & crafts, going for walks, and gaming. I’m always picking up new hobbies, so chances are I’ll be talking about whatever I’m currently into!

Working with young people is something I truly enjoy and I’m really looking forward to meeting and connecting with you all this summer!

From a galaxy not so far away is Counselor Caroline...

Hi! My name is Caroline and I’m from Green Bay. I’m a sophomore at UW-La Crosse studying English Education. Next semester, my junior year, I’ll be transferring to UW-Madison!

I love to read, write, and spend time outdoors paddle boarding, kayaking, and hiking.

MEET THE TEAM!

Someone who has been at Camp Wabansi for the past 15 years as a camper, teen leader, counselor, and member of our leadership team is Teen Leadership Coordinator Maddie!

Hi, everyone! I'm Maddie, I'm from De Pere, and this will be my sixth summer working at Camp Wabansi!

I just graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and I will be attending UW-Stevens Point in the fall to start my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology!

My favorite thing about camp is sleeping over on Thursday nights, but I also love tie-dying, searching for sea glass, and singing camp songs!

Hopping on over to a different corner of our pond is Office Admin Marci!

Hey, everyone! My name is Marci and this will be my sixth summer on staff and my first summer on the leadership team.

I love all critters (domestic and wild), playing video games, and the color pink.

When I’m not at camp, you’ll find me working at schools in the GBAPS district. When I am at camp, you’ll find me smoochin’ toads.

I’m super excited for camp to start soon!
