Dear All, We would like to take a moment to thank those who made Christmas special for our shelter residents. While we are enjoying the current mild weather, our forecast indicates a significant temperature drop in the near future. We need your support so we can provide vital necessities like towels, toiletries, warm clothing including socks, undergarments, and coats, plus food and hot beverages to those who require them. We will once again open our doors to our unhoused friends. Your generosity will bring hope and warmth to our community, and we value your support in creating a positive impact.

We will again open tonight for overnight overflow while the temperatures are below 40⁰. We need additional blankets, pillows, food, milk, sugar, coffee, hot chocolate, tea. Anyone wishing to drop off may do so 4:30pm or later and can also call the shelter directly at 912-216-9071. Please leave a message or email [email protected] or [email protected] I would normally be available but am on vacation until 1/6. You may also respond to this post and I will answer within a day as I check them. I would normally more often but not checking constantly this week. Thank you for all you do to assist us in Doing the Most Good ❤️

With Thanksgiving behind us and the return of colder weather, we are prepared to accommodate overflow on nights when the temperature falls below 40°F. Our organization is always seeking donations of essential items such as food, tea, sugar, blankets, towels, and paper products, including kitchen and toilet tissue. Additionally, I am collecting new items for Christmas gifts, including perfumes, colognes/body sprays, hoodie shirts in various sizes, sweatpants, women's and men's undergarments, wallets, and purses. We provide housing for 16 men and 10 women, and your support is vital in helping us provide gifts for each of them. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at 912-216-9070 or email me at [email protected]. I am more than happy to arrange for pickup of any donations. Thank you for your consideration. God Bless you, Susie. 🎄🎅️❄️☃️

We have been operating a cold weather overflow program for the past three nights, providing a safe haven for over 20 individuals who would have otherwise been at risk of exposure to life-threatening cold temperatures. Our recent donation of six new blankets and four new pillows has been a significant enhancement to our services. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to the donor who made this contribution possible. Although this donation has been extremely helpful, our need for additional resources remains pressing. To sustain our efforts, we require further donations of towels, washrags, sugar, tea, basic toiletries, including shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Additionally, we are seeking Christmas donations, specifically new coats, soft pants, thermal or sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, gloves, undergarments, and socks. As we strive to provide a festive and memorable Christmas experience for our clients, your support is crucial in enabling us to offer each individual a new gift to open.

Hello everyone, we are currently in need of blankets due to the approaching cooler weather. As a result, the unsheltered homeless population may visit our facility seeking blankets, which subsequently reduces our supply for existing clients. Please share this post to spread awareness. Arrangements can be made for pickup or drop-off at the shelter. For further assistance, kindly contact me directly via Facebook or call 912-216-9070, leaving a message if I'm unavailable. Additionally, we require disinfectant wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, towels, and wash rags due to an increased demand for day-to-day essentials. Thank you.

We are seeking assistance in obtaining a mobility scooter for a client residing in our shelter. Due to his limited financial resources, he is unable to procure one independently. The client has undergone an amputation below the knee on one leg and a significant partial amputation of his other foot, resulting in considerable mobility challenges. As the cooler weather sets in, his pain levels have increased, further complicating his healing process. Currently, he is not receiving disability benefits, as his application, submitted several months ago, is still pending a decision. His existing wheelchair poses difficulties, particularly during rain, as the wheels become slick, causing the chair to slide on multiple occasions. With the impending rain and cold weather in November, we are concerned that his mobility issues will be exacerbated. Recently, he lost his identification, which was stored in a bag attached to his wheelchair, highlighting the challenges he faces in securing his belongings. A mobility scooter with a front-mounted basket would greatly enhance his accessibility to essential items during his daily excursions from the shelter. We fear that the harsh weather conditions in November will render his already precarious situation unbearable. Can you provide assistance in this matter?

Although we have so many community partnerships we still need your help. Did you know that if anyone comes to our door asking for food at dinner time that we feed them a good hot meal? Or, if they request blankets to stay warm they are given one? We are in need of disposable plates and forks, blankets, toothpaste and meat. The need is great! Please assist us with meeting the needs they require and standing in *the gap× to help us restore hope.
